That is ridiculous the Nemo ride is not a low budget ride depressing ride. It’s a cute kid’s ride it’s fun just to go in there and laugh. It’s the same negative people that comment on everything. All you have is one person’s opinion and you make it seem like everybody voted on it. Why aren’t you taking an opinion poll and you would see many people like the Nemo ride. Could we have some positive Disney articles.

    1. Tim

I love the Nemo ride. People are nuts

      1. Nick

The ride was designed as a kids ride and it does its job just fine.
People seem to love to complain for the sake of complaining, I guess it gives them something to do.

    2. Chris

Well I liked deep sea alpha more but that’s because there were more fish, but nenmo is cute.

      1. Pe

Deep sea base was way way better. It was super interesting and felt futuristic. The ride now is just a ride. It’s ok but nothing special. Same with soarin. The old soarin was fantastic. The new one is just a reminder of how good the old one was. Journey into imagination isn’t anywhere close to what it was. All very sad

    3. Walt

a few crybullies have to ruin it for those that do like it. Not every ride has to be wet your pants thrilling. People drive hours to visit aquariums and here one is to maybe learn something – but nope can’t have that. I’m so tired of people who want to fix rides turning “pirates of the Caribbean” into “Boy Scouts of the Caribbean” and of course the grand daddy stupid retheme of them all – Splash Mountain into a ride based on a flop second rate movie for PC reasons which are not at all based in reality.

      1. Randall Cox

I think that people nowadays are just so dead inside that nothing wows them anymore. We see it everywhere now. Movies, tv shows, cars, etc. You name it, it gets a negative review. Any aquarium is awesome to see and if people do like it, which they do, that’s all that matters.

    4. Chris Kinney

Again, Splash Mountain is not based on Song of the South, it’s based on an animated story told within that movie.

  2. YMarie

Love the ride, and awesome aquariums, also the rescued manatees….dive quest…

    1. Journey into Imagination is the one that needs the love

      1. Beth W.

Journey Into Imagination was better before they “upgraded” last time. I liked Figment and all the neat things there were to do after the ride. But they had to get their fingers in it and change all that.

  3. YeahRight

So the opinion of less than 10 people warrants a whole article? Who are you trying to fool, Andrew? That’s right, folks. This guy wrote an entire article about a reddit post with only NINE comments. You should be ashamed, Andy.

    1. Philly

And yet you took the time to read and comment on it! Who cares if the article was based on 1, 9, 10……or 1000 Reddit posts? It still invoked interest in folks to read and comment.

  4. The makeover that’s really needed is a CEO with an imagination and entertainment background, Cheapskate is ruining the place.

    1. Joey

I agree that is the most boring cheap low budget ride I couldn’t wait to get off of it

      1. Marilyn

I think Disney is for kids below 12 My kids couldn’t wait to leave with the line ups, the ride break downs
Mom found everything very expensive and other amusement parks are h
        Just as good

        1. Chris Kinney

What other theme park has anything even close to Rise of the Resistance?

    2. Richard Mumolo

Yeah. Problem with a lot of companies. There is a CEO who has an MBA & only knows cost control, budgeting, maximizing profits & increasing stock value. He reports to the Board of Directors that are elected by stockholders who only know & care about how much money they are making.
None of them know anything at all about the product/service provided, or the front line people providing the product/service or the people paying for & receiving the product/service.

      1. JS

Hey some of us with MBAs actually care about creativity and quality. Too bad most CEOs tend to lose that when they take over large corporations and now only money matters. I wish I could have that job just for a year or two and make Disney fun again by actually listening to its consumers. But who am I kidding, I would probably then run it to the ground anyways so maybe no.

    3. Beth W.

I’m right there with you on that! I don’t think it’s because he’s a cheapskate though…it’s more that he wants to be able to show a BIG profit to the shareholders, which means charging more and spending less. Disney definitely needs a CEO that has a good imagination.

      1. Well the shareholders are getting nothing in return! My Disney stock price has dropped almost 50 % !!

    4. CarolinaTiger

That is the truth. Chapik is ruining the whole experience with his money grab. Genie+ is an egregious effort into greed. The parks are much less inviting. Most of the employees were not the same, inviting, friendly, “magical” experience from years past. The whole makeover of Mr. Disney’s original concept is shameful

  5. Chris Kinney

Let’s make this clear: Splash Mountain is not based on the movie “Song of the South”, it’s based on an animated story told within that movie.

    1. Debbe

Not any more. They have ripped out that delightful story and replaced it with the frog prince story.

      1. Nick

        Not in FL they haven’t.
At WDW it’s the same as it ever was, even the animatronics still don’t all work.

  6. Mike

Imagine being such a horrible writer that you have to try making Disney look bad based off of a few ridiculous Reddit comments. 🙄 Oh and by the way, your writing is also bad because LOOK AT IT. Get a life.

  7. Major

More importantly, hour can the trains be idle fire 4 years due to TRON construction? Disney has built entire parks in that time frame!

  8. PeglegsPiotr

I went on that ride once, nothing depressing about it. We’d love to go again.
What I see here is another case of entitlement where the theme park goer expects everything to be highly immersive and cutting edge tech, all the rides can’t be ROTR or Guardians of the Galaxy. Stay home with your VR set and Peleton, there’s nothing wrong with the Nemo ride. FFS

  9. Heath Bosse

It’s not the rides that are bad its the cheap everything else like no parades, a terrible fireworks show, and the lack of cleaning at Disney that is so frustrating. It all comes down to one thing Chapek could care less about anyone except himself and is doing everything cheap!!!!!!

  10. Kenr

Before they do anything to any existing ride in all of WDW, they need to tear out the Journey to Imagination With Figment, and finally replace it with something worthy of that big beautiful pavilion. Figment is easily in the top three worst rides in all of WDW and occupies a huge section of Epcot.

    1. AMJ

If Disney did the maintenance on ALL rides then Nemo would be one that improved. There is a boat in the line que that hasn’t has the lights on it working for years now. Figment is one of our families favorite rides. But at this point the cars aren’t even stopping in the right areas for the standing still part of the shows, last week the ride was off so much that the first car in the ride train we were in stopped almost totally past the correct place. At all the places it stopped. And the upside down room was fility. Water was dripping from the teas kettle that is supposed to have steam. The bubbles in the tub had layers of dust AND cobwebs.
More $$$$ for everything, less CMs, just keep dreaming it gets better. Soon!

  11. FL-Dad

To those who complain about everything Disney:

A Challenge: if you dislike so much about Disney, STOP GOING.

Each time you give Disney money, you are encouraging Disney to do more of the same.

    1. Bravo First comment that makes sense
Disney loves making money on young families

    2. Crystal

It’s because the Disney we all know and loved for so many years is gone, it’s not that we don’t want to go, we want the magic back, we still want to go we just want it the way it was, I know change has to happen it’s part of life, but when you make changes at least find a way to make the changes in a positive way.

  12. Bev H

The Nemo ride isn’t depressing, but to me it’s a little boring. Heck, to me it’s almost the same as the Little Mermaid ride at Magic Kingdom. My favorite things in The Seas at Epcot are the aquarium and “Crush,” but I only visit there if I’m taking guests.

    1. Relrev

Turtle Talk with Crush is the hidden gem of Epcot. It is hilarious and adorable, and always a bit different with different kids.

  13. Debra Rusovick

It’s not boring! Think about the children and the child in all of us. It’s educational and fun. When I was a child, going on the submarine ride was one of my favorites, and I am70 years young now. Disneyland was a special treat and each and every ride a unique experience. If you don’t like going “under water” then don’t ride it, just stop complaining about it. There are those of us who look at things with a positive light and those of us who are just looking for something negative to say about everything.

  14. Candi Appleton

As long as they have dolphins there, I can’t go to Epcot.
It’s absolutely wrong to exploit these sentient creatures.

    1. Christina

I was going to comment about that too. Now that would be a good article to write about. Tell them the truth behind those poor dolphins stuck in lock down. Captured from wild, (forgot how many died when moved to Epcot) These sound sensitive , social animals have no place in captivity. Disney needs to put them in a marine sanctuary to show Epcot is current on what should have been done a long time ago. Dolphins don’t enjoy swimming in concrete and eating dead fish.

  15. Shane P Dalton

Really people? The ride is pretty much a kids ride Iean really? There is nothing depressing about the ride. Explain to me what is depressing about it? I think it’s a cook way to just chill and relax for a little bit. Ridiculous!!!

  16. Pat

I have liked it since day.

  17. Edward

When Disney stops being woke and removing things that may offend some but we’re part of our childhood I won’t go out take my kids.

  18. Edward

Disney and their liberal woke stance removing things that the world now think are racist or won’t that we grew up with and know they were not meant that way, and firing people for their use of their freedom of speech, I won’t take my kids there ever and boycott Disney and Thier companies.

  19. Jason

Jesus, do the people who complain about “wokeness” even proof read themselves? It reminds me of a suggestion box at a kindergarten. It’s as simple as many people have previously pointed out… “don’t go”.

  20. SG

I agree with all y’all. Nemo is cute and a must do for the little ones, and some of us big ones too.

I don’t understand how they said Big Thunder was updated or restored. A week ago we were there and while we were waiting in line ALL of those fun gadgets where you spin then pump and then a big explosion happens – those are still broken AND the spin the wheel to make the canary in the coal mine sing is still broken AND the spin the wheel to make a motion picture work – only one of the four worked. So what exactly did they fix on that attraction?
It’s always sad to see things in such disrepair. Not to mention all the price increases – where is that going!

  21. JS

If any ride could use a refurbishment it is Rockin Rollercoaster. Does necessarily need a change, but updating. I road it yesterday and had a huge headache the rest of the day afterwards. It has gotten very rough over the years (or it’s just me getting older).

  22. Ricky

Definitely needs an upgrade. It got worse with the Nemo changes. It’s an amazing opportunity to discuss the oceans and how they impact life on earth (bring Nemo along!). This could have been an educational (with fun characters) ride at a much higher level. Instead it looks like a cheap add-on and no one is in line for it.

  23. Laura Beltran

The aquarium after riding Nemo is great but the real attraction is the air conditioning and sitting down for 3 minutes. When its 200 degrees and 150% humidity in Orlando in the summer, I’ll ride Nemo a few times just to get a rest and cool off.

  24. Ken Brenner

There are some things that don’t need changing – classic Disney with wonderful classic Disney music. Examples:
    – Epcot fireworks show “Illuminations – Reflection of Earth”
    – Splash Mountain
    – Tom Sawyer Island
    – France pavilion, movie – Impressions de France (and get rid of the sing along)
    – Magic Kingdom fireworks show “Wishes” with its traditional Disney theme
The thing that makes WDW unique is its traditional Disney theming. Not the mess that comes with all of the movies they are making these days.
    Just a thought…

  25. Mom-Mom

Love Nemo attraction. Can not agree at all with it being depressing. It is a great “cooling” ride after walking in warm/hot days and the grandkids like it.

  26. Eric Poll

What’s actually depressing are the fish tanks themselves. Years without corporate sponsorship has left the tanks in terrible condition. The artificial coral has not been clean nor vibrant for many years. The main tank was designed to have the roof opened to lift out the large artificial coral inserts when necessary. It is WAY beyond necessary. Plus also notable is how many fewer exotic species were in the main tank since corporate sponsorship ended. As well as the overall number of sealife.

But the “depressing” mood continues into the “Sea Lab”. Ever since the Nemo takeover, the main Sea Lab was repainted in muted colors, the hydrolator where divers came down the center water column was abandoned. And all the side rooms lost their elaborate interactive kiosks.

Bottom line… Disney needs to reinvest in The Living Seas and visit modern popular aquariums like Atlanta or Dubai and bring back the “Wow! Factor” to bring crowds back to this attraction.

  27. James Holt

Worked for WDW, lived there, it’s not magic it’s a job like all others. Cast members talk bad about guests trying to rip them off, Cinderella smokes on break, told on day one some is watching you anywhere you are, except bathrooms, including employees, and now they imported the prices? Go enjoy something real, they hijacked star wars and marvel, they bought fox just to get more of a hold on marvel licensing, they are a black hole. They haven’t made anything new in awhile, just using others creativity. Sad…

  28. I am very saddened to hear this,Disney was a fantastic place for Me and my children, grandchildren Whenever our family went to the Magic Kingdom we all turned back in time traveled back to our childhood except for the kiddos lol .We had a blast there. seasonal passes.and all…Christmas’s with snow..,hot cocoa and cookie for free…. The last time I was there was 2014-15? Disney was very much still manicured there lawn well kept statues cleaner than clean all the characters and rides were perfect…I just don’t know anymore….How things suddenly change for the worst UGH!!!

  29. Brad Wilson

These Nemo complainers will be wanting snacks served during Soaring, or the barking dog to stop on The Land, or the Pirates to stop saying Dead men. It should be dead persons

  30. Jerry

It’s nearly impossible to read anything from Itm anymore with the hundreds of embedded ads and pop-ups. Add to that the long rambling intros to every article to make you scroll through even more ads. Just get to the point already.

  31. Lighten up Francis

The ride is great, and I’m almost 50! It’s fun, the song is adorable, the line is quick… get a grip people. What the heck!

  32. J.Armstrong

I’ve taken my grands and nieces and nephew several times within the past decade and myself visited as a child. Tomorrowland desperately needs a makeover, space mountain and all the other rides and attractions because they are no longer futuristic, they met that burden in the 1980’s maybe, plus everything looks ran down and old. I know it was Covid when we went in 2021 but a great deal was closed like our favorite restaurants and snack stands. Plus a few things were closed like rides.

  33. Erik

    Here arey thoughts on updates;

A small addition to the empty movie sequence in Living with the Land, dump Lion king movie.

Do something more with LifeWorx pavilion and Oddessy, mission space exit and Test Track exit.

Restore Communicore to an haveore attractions and with a bigger “Club cool” where you can actually purchase foreign soda and other foreign snacks.

Revamp all movie spaces in the countries that have them to an experience rather than just sitting or standing to watch a movie.

Italy, America, Morraco and UK could use a bit more substance

Add another country where Israel was going to be.

  34. JT

It’s a very depressing ride. It should be demolished. Theming it after Nemo which has an anti-captivity message is particularly tone deaf. Even Sea World is slowly moving away from exploiting animals as entertainment and focusing on rides. Time to move into the 21st Century EPCOT.

  35. Beez

Don’t know Nemo, what I do know is that Dinosaur is a turd and is ready for a massive makeover or complete demolition and replace with, whatever.

  36. Tabiemarie

After walking around epcot for hours in the sun this ride was a way to sit, cool down, see beautiful fish , and enjoy a Disney favorite Nemo. Haters it’s for children not really made to entertain you adults there are plenty of things to entertain you!

  37. Tabiemarie

I worked in that attraction I had to ride it every shift. It’s bumpy and Jerky but your warned ahead of time lol. I think it’s fun.

  38. Lia

The Nemo ride is the least of Disney’s problems. It’s fun for children AND the feet of more seasoned visitors😉😂
The truly depressing thing about Disney is Bob Chapek. Period.

  39. Marlin

We went last month and I felt similarly, I’m definitely a fan of the ride portion but it was sad and in disrepair. The angler fish animatronic was broken, the tunnel/turtle projectors were out of focus and not lined up, the peppers ghost on the glass was messed up as you could and see the light/projector leaking through which ruined the effect. Hope they get it tuned up soon.

  40. J.J. Carlson

It’s certainly not my favorite, but my son loved it on our trip last week, so that was enough for me.

  41. Matt

Not every ride is going to be thrilling and sometimes it’s the simple whimsy of it that children enjoy. I think a good guideline has always been- would Walt approve? I think for Nemo, he would. My boys were both younger when they rode it, and even today still enjoy going on it. Let’s leave some of the simpler rides for the kids alone. Besides, it’s a good way to get a cool down for a few minutes on a hot day if nothing else.

  42. Chris Kinney

Again, Splash Mountain is not based on Song of the South, it’s based on an animated story told within that movie.

  43. Casey S.

The Seas is easily one of my favorite rides in all of Disney! If they were to take it away or update it in a way that was too futuristic I would be so sad.

Every trip to Disney my husband and I have to ride at least twice and then spend a million years looking at all the critters in the aquarium!

I do realize it isn’t the most fancy or high tech ride on property but I love the simplicity and the genuine happiness I experience when I’m there!

  44. Desi

How about the writing on ITM? It’s pretty low-budget and depressing. I don’t know what/which ride/s you’re talking about because you lost me after three grafs.
    Boring! Get to point.

  45. JC

Someone is board. People need to get a Life. Quit pickin on Disney. I bet ya whoever wrote this has not been out of their house or cubicle since the pandemic began. Bob Chapekis like Biden everything they touch turns in to rust.
