I’m guessing with that kind of benefit Dollywood will not experience the staffing shortage currently plaguing businesses. A signing bonus is great, but education provides a path to improve for the rest of employees lives. My thoughts on this move? It’s common sense and well placed generosity that will attract, retain and motivate staff. Long term thinking vs a quick fix.
Went to Dollywood for the first time this last October and loved it. One theme was constant – Ms. Parton values and supports her employees. When you are valued, you’re happy to give your best. This is something the two Bobs of Disney sorely lacked.
I am offended that Underwater basket weaving and art history are not included in the list of degrees.
It is completely offensive that she won’t pay for me to fund my education for my passion… and only something that might actually provide me a steady income in the future. Just so offensive.
