Meatloaf was a fantastic artist. He gave 100% of what was available for him to give. His style was over the top larger than life, but that is what was required for Jim Steinman music and lyrics. There is a reason Bat out of Hell is one of the biggest selling albums of all time and still continues to sell and it is because Meatloaf sells it all so brilliantly. “For Crying Out Loud” is probably the best love song ever recorded.
