DISNEY SHOULD STOP SELLING THEIR MERCH FROM PARKS AND DISNEY ONLINE STORE CAUSE PPL ARE RESELLING ON MERCARI AND EBAY FOR MORE THAN TRIPLE THE PRICE. THIS IS NOT FARE FOR TRUE DISNEY FANS AND COLLECTORS 😡😡
Unfortunately it’s 2 per guest, not household. Resellers give their children money to buy two, then each parent buys 2 themselves. They have no shame and flaunt it. It’s ridiculous and scummy. >:-(
Off the top of my head, I came up with 2 easy ways, with the technology they currently use, to (at least) get ahead of the scalpers.
ONE
Disney could require guests to scan their park ticket or Annual Pass when they pay at the booth.
Once you’ve bought your maximum of 2 buckets, then a Flag will pop up in the system if you try to buy more.
TWO
If they don’t want to go the technology route, how about handing a redemption voucher (Good for 2 buckets) to each person entering the park.
When ordering your buckets you MUST hand over the voucher.
And since the Ticket person at the gate usually has a device showing whether or not you have entered the park previously in the day, this could prevent you from leaving and coming back to get more Vouchers.
There you go; Two easy ways to prevent the over-buying and scalping of the Figment Popcorn buckets.
I’m hoping that all along, their pre-planned sales strategy is…
…since it’s the first weekend of this festival, (and they want to create a media buzz with the long lines), that they sold the buckets hard for the first 3 days.
But for the remainder of the festival, they’ll have a finite number of buckets available each day.
Meaning, once they are out for the day, they won’t restock until Tomorrow.
Like they do with the Starbucks Mugs and pins and other really popular merchandise.
Limit the number sold each day in the park. Not difficult.
Better yet, if you stay on property, you get first access.
These annual pass holders buy up all the merchandise and sell it on eBay for ridiculous amounts of money. Disney could also put a stop to that, if they wanted.
i work at the stand that sells these and unavailable does in no way mean sold out. i shouldnt say this but we got a whole warehouse full to the brim. Theres no real reason to wait in the long ass line unless your limited on time on your vacation and wont be back before the end of the festival…. They are only putting out X amount per day, for accouple reasons. 1 being if you dont get it or want more you will be a repeat customer/guest and spend more. unavailable in most cases never ever means 100% sold out just means come back later.
