6,000 so I can be thrown in a box truck to leave the hotel to visit Galaxy’s Edge. I think a cheap motel on I-drive could run a better Star Wars experience. I’m glad I don’t have enough money to book this hot garbage.
Chewie – I am fairly certain that the outside of the “box truck” will not be seen by any of the guests. I will hold my judgment until I see what the inside looks like.
The costumes are not what I would have expected, & they do look like healthcare workers. Hopefully, that’s not what will be worn. I’ll never see them, because the “experience” is out of my budget for such a short stint. 🙁 I live too far away. I’d much rather save & go to Disney Paris or Tokyo, & knock 2 countries off my bucket list while seeing other things in the process.
Freedomrocksusa – Has anyone thought that the “costumes” being worn now are not the actual costumes that will be used when the Starcruiser officially opens. Like most entertainment companies, Disney doesn’t want to show the end product until it is open for business.
From a box truck that unless they have special permission and registration. They legally can not have anyone in the box. I’m a box truck driver. To the horrible design choices with uniforms and the design of the interior. This will be a budget hotel in less than two years
Our family is huge Star Wars fans and I priced to see how much it would be for 6 of us to stay when we go during spring break March 15-19th and we could go on a 14 day all inclusive cruise CHEAPER than 4 days at this new Resort! No thank you! Sad part is we would really like to just walk through it to see it, but you HAVE to be a registered guest to enter!😱🤦🏻♀️ Also 4 days at the parks ( 1 park per day/no park hopper) with Genie + and Lightning Lane “Fast Passes” is going to cost us over $4,000 for the 4 days! A price racket if you ask me! Sad part is it was going to be almost $200 pp to go to Universal without Fast Passes!😢🤑
So. Not everyone can afford this. So what. Its by design.
How are all these people calling ” terrible” and a mess know anything about it as it isnt open yet. No one has experienced it yet. If you dont like it, dont go! You all are jealous because you arent the demographic targeted for it. Stop complaining about something you havent experienced.
It’s sad they went cheap on those costumes. For the price people are choosing to pay for this experience. Everything should be different than what is seen by anyone paying regular admission to the park. If it is the same or similar to what the majority can see and experience they will lose more reservations. Yes I know the adventures will be an added bonus.
I hear about massive cancellations but don’t know where those facts come from as you know Disney wouldn’t release that information, as I am suspicious of online sites getting it right. If rooms are appearing when they weren’t available before could be Disney has held back stuff for promotion and now are releasing them to the public. I will wait a few months and see what visitors have to say before I jump to any conclusions on the new hotel and how well it is received. To often I’ve seen this in the past, such as Star Tours how can they bring that to Disneyland, Disney Characters in Small world oh how terrible, Tower of Terror getting Marvel change oh how terrible , etc., etc., etc.
The truth behind the current uniforms is that the actual uniforms haven’t arrived yet. They are doing trial runs of this thing so they have to wear SOMETHING (in this case, recycled uniforms)
Please stop believing everything you see on the internet.
I am so disappointed. We are huge Disney and Star Wars fans. When our boys were young we were all amazed by the characters in the Studios during Star Wars days. We loved rrunning to get our next fast pass. It was pricey, but we felt we were getting something special. Now it feels like they are nickel and diming and thousanding us to death for something that lacks the magic. I was hoping it would be so special that it might even be worth the crazy price tag, at least once. Now it seems like cynical business operation. Walt used to talk about “plussing” the experience, giving the guests MORE than they expected. Those days seem gone.
I had the opportunity to visit the Starcruiser for just part of one day. And, it’s fantastic! Balk at the price tag of you like, but the immersive experience, the design details (which looks soooooooo much better in person — and totally Star Wars!), the service, and the “heart” that’s been put in the project make it all worth it in my estimation. This project does not deserve the knee-jerk hate it gets from the very tiny glimpses we’ve had of it. What is it in our human nature that finds some reward for looking for the negatives in things?
I get that this is just reposts of twitposts, but you have to remember these things
1. Yes, most people who are willing to spend this kind of money for starping are not fan of the Disney sequel movies so the time setting isnt appealing to most, but also consider:
2. You have to cancel 90 days to get full refund, and
3. Covid has been spiking and it is tough to gamble $7k 90 days in the future.
4. Current Disney policy is masks all times in doors except when eating or drinking, so
5. Performers and guests will be masked during activities, but
6. No one will be during meals when you are sharing assigned tables cruise ship style.
7. Who wants to spend money for tha
I took a 2 week driving vacation with my wife. We spent a little above 2500 dollars and visited relatively unknown parts of the country. It was real, it was on our time table, and I would consider it a better experience than playing fantasy for 2 days for 6000 dollars. We visited lush forests, the high plains, huge sand dunes, like visiting other worlds, and at night we were able to see the blackness of the night sky with billions of tiny dots. Go see the real world, it is cheaper and more immersive.
Immersive??!! Where are the costumes that fit the SW universe for the ships? This is NOT my idea of what they look like! Seems Disney is recycling again and maybe they should have kept Launch Bay if they were going to keep the costumes! This is just so not right! If you want your Cast to create personas and FEEL the role, you DON’T DRESS THEM IN REUSED COSTUMES! Come off the saving money track and use the Force of your imagination!
I like how they are going to transport the 1% in a white moving truck to Galaxy’s Edge like they are illegal immigrants, but they ride a regular bus to Disney Springs (and BTW Disney Springs is not a fully immersive Star Wars experience). Anybody who pays for this is an idiot. The fake ship looks like Star Trek not Star Wars. Who are the imagineers putting their names on this dumpster fire?
Disney keeps touting this is a “2 night immersive experience” as if guests will be lined up around the galaxy to be part of it.
If it’s anything like other resorts, check in time will be 4pm. By the time you actually get your room and unpack, it will be much later. Then guests will enjoy a few hours of Star Wars themed activities before getting tired from their travels and going to bed.
Night one.
The next day will more than likely be spent at HS on Batuu. Guests will return to the starcruiser, after their day at the park, and have a few more hours of “immersive experiences” before going to bed.
Night two.
The third day will be checkout day. At 11am.
When will guests actually experience the immersive part?
Sounds like a good way to spend $6k.
NOT!!!

Sadly, Disney has become out of my price range.

Looks like costumes from the old Buck Rogers tv show

Are they fake cruise ship castmembers or castmembers who put me on the TTA Peoplemover?

LOL immersive. This will probably still be fun for the wealthy, but not Star Wars fans who know better.

Save Star Wars
Just look at the booking windows. It was impossible to get a reservation because they were fully booked for months.
Cancellations happen and you guessed it, there are plenty of open dates to make a reservation.
Its not rocket science.

For that much $$$ you could rent an all-inclusive luxury suite with a private pool hanging off a cliff and jaw dropping private patio in Santorini.

just a quick note, Rise of Skywalker is Ep. VIII (8) not ep. VII (7). This just caused a huge debate in our household (lol).
Marvin
Actually,
Ep VII = The Force Awakens
Ep VIII = The Last Jedi
Ep IX = The Rise of Skywalker
Why is there even a debate? No Alexa or Google? You seem to be able to use the Internet.

The cleaning crews on the ships are dressed better!! AND for the money, I could go on a really nice cruise for at least 7 days!! What a waste!!

You know what’s funny, even the “Cruise to Nowhere” that used to be popular are probably worth more than this, and a whole lot cheaper!
