Are you demanding a trenchcoat, fedora with a press pass style of investigative journalism for a Disney site?
I slightly disagree with these. While guests should be considerate of others, no shouting, phone texting or talking to rows behind or infront but if im on the ride with my kid and she wants to fully emerge herself and sing along than by all means let her enjoy it. If she asks me questions about the ride yes I’m going to talk with her about it so she can understand and enjoy what’s around her. Let kids be curious and learn let them enjoy and sing, laugh and giggle. You arnt at a movie theater your there to enjoy and for some people thst may be singing along with the tunes
Guess it’s a little harder to understand when it’s a 40 year old woman belting out the tunes to every song in Mickeys Phillharmagic so everyone in the theater can “know” how “beautiful” her voice is.
Why can’t we just let people enjoy something? If they want to recite the lines of a ride let them. If they want to sing a song let them. If they are deliberately breaking the rules like flash photography, line jumping, rocking the boats, putting they’re hands out side of the ride vehicle then it’s problem. You don’t know what Is going on in someone’s life or what they’re situation is! To you someome might look like an adult being obnoxious to them they just think it’s harmless. Just leave people alone geez.
These people all sound like insufferable asses. I mean these so-called park etiquette police. You’ve been there how many times? You are upset someone is excited trying to capture their trip?
You attack first time guests and those who know every last line in the ride. Only common denominator is the jerk who thinks they get to dictate someone’s behavior.
Etiquette police? We’re just asking people to have Normal behavior. For example, don’t talk loudly over the ride narration; it’s part of the ride. Everyone should get to experience it (new Guest or old).
Every ride has an entry narrative. It has been difficult or almost impossible to hear it because of the loud conversations around you.
The park asks you not to use flash photography on rides. The flash can startle performers and other guests. With a cell phone you can take all the pictures you want without a flash.
To be honest I have been to Disney world more then
Once and been on all those rides. I really haven’t come across those type of guest. Unless it is a after pandemic thing. If you are on the phone yes put it away I agree it is like being in a theater. As far as people excited and talking to friends or family they paid just as much as you or more they want to have a good time they have every right to take pictures talk to each other and laugh make noise reenact their favorite parts in a movie. The theme parks are there for you to feel like a kid and feel what it is like to be in a movie. Don’t like Don’t go.
Agree wholeheartedly. However, “normal” means different things to different people. That term is no longer universally understood. Disney staff really need to get more creative to help people to understand what is and is not appropriate. Expectations need to be better communicated beforehand. What is being communicated is too weak and it’s broken
I don’t think anyone is talking about that. We’re mad at the jerks who are being noisy or have phones (phone lights) on and don’t let others immerse themselves in the ambiance and rides.
I once had a woman in front of me face time a kid at home during the entirety of pirates of the Caribbean. I thought that was pretty terrible. Why not take a video and send it later, or I don’t know pay to bring the kid? Don’t ruin everyone else’s experience to try to be the cool grandma who didn’t bring little sally to Disney world and thinks face timing her from the ride is gonna make it better.
I absolutely hate it when one person waits in line and 5 people cut line to get to that one person. I’ve seen it in California, Florida, and Paris Disney this year. I know its been around for a while.
Yes, we were in Pirates on Pride day, (we didn’t know until we got there) and a group of gay men were seated in the same boat with us. Yes, they narrated the ride, sang extremely loudly, and made out on the boat. My young children asked why the men were kissing each other as one of them was making out with the men on each side of him as if he were the prize between them. I did not stare but when my children told me what was going on, I turned around to see if this was true. The singing, I could ignore, but the display of affection with two partners in front of young children was too much. They were very rude.
Oh wow! So if 2 young couples are kissing in front of your kids that’s wrong or is it just gay men and women that bother you? Miss ..
I’m not gay but I doesn’t bother me, people are people wherever they are, whether at Disney or a restaurant, people need to get over being so prude and embrace life and others around you. Yes it is wrong to use flash and be loudly obnoxious, but don’t pick on those that love to love life, when you get home explain it to your kids and be done with it. Have a wonderful day! ☺
First time back to DisneyWorld since Jan2020.
Masks are required for all indoor areas. Many guests are being rude and not following this policy to help keep others safe.
Carousel of Progress for example: the four individuals sitting right in front of us took off their masks once the ride started and basically coughed the entire time.
Same with the monorail. Many took off masks once the monorail started moving.
Some Cast members on the monorail platform at MK did not say anything to
I paid to be there just like everyone else. so if I want to video or take pictures or talk to my husband sitting next to me I will. It’s an amusement park not a library. This has occurred for a variety of reasons: bringing alcohol sales into the parks, alcohol sales attracting a very different/less family-oriented clientele, the age of the selfish social media promotion, and the leftist woke entitlement mentality relating to the overall breakdown of social manners, and behavior.
I had a visit to Disneyland just after Thanksgiving and was annoyed by this very fact. Haunted Mansion Holidays was the worst of it. Not only did the people just ahead of me in line take out sheet music and start reading just as the lines merged causing our side to stay still as the other moved forward, but it was so loud in the pre-show and elevator that I couldn’t even hear the soundtrack. We Deadheads have a saying, shut up when the band is playing!
Yes so frustrated with people’s manners. On New Year’s Eve. I got slammed from behind with a lady who was on a scooter at full speed. We were walking out of the Star Wars store when she hit me so hard, I fell back on to the scooter. Did she apologize to me? No she told me that out was my damn fault for not moving out of her way!. That’s what really pissed me off. To top it off she was acting line the victim. The cashier at the store didn’t once ask me if I was ok she was hovering over her making sure she was ok. I was in complete disbelief. I now have a big bruise on my left leg along with a lump. My back and neck hurts!
I had a similar intentional assault inflicted on me at park exit. Guy totally hit me from behind and to keep from falling, I placed my hand in the front of the scooter. I will never forget the look of anger in his eye as he literally doubled-down and tried to make it go faster. I wish we would have been able to locate security, but it was impossible in that crowd at park exit and close on the opening of the 50th. Several witnesses saw what he did including his daughter. She was angry with him for doing it, but at least she knows how cruel he really is now.
I agree Disney had better figure the scooter thing out or they are facing liability for future assaults.
Do Not get me started on scooters or strollers! I had a woman hit me full force into my wrist at Magic Kingdom on Christmas day! She did stop and asked if I was alright. It still doesn’t excuse her for riding it at full speed. Ugh. Then you have people people using strollers for carrying bags instead of children as they zoom right in front of you or allow youngsters to push them into the back of legs. The worse is entitled guests passing off a scooter amongst their tribe so they get perks of sitting in handicap spots during shows and allowing the rest (7 other family members) to be with them. When told by a cast member they had to have the scooter they sent a teenager to Fetch it so they could get in! Disney really needs to get a handle on this.

Definitely do not want to see another ‘family fight’ such as the infamous one in Mickey’s Toontown (Disneyland).
I wouldn’t go back to Disney if they gave me free tickets and free airfare. Went on trip with my daughter and her fiancé. All adults. Over 3 days we rode 4 rides. The lines were literally hrs long wait. Heat unbearable. No shady seating. Long lines for food. At one point waiting for parade I just checked out the crowds specifically the kids to see if they appeared to enjoy it. Kids all crying and parents all looked miserable. So very few people actually enjoying it. I know we hated it. Never been so happy to get on a plane back home. I would NEVER take a child to that madness. Stayed at magic kingdom. What a joke. The guests had to keep running to different areas of hotel just to catch a glimpse of an animal or two. Huge ripoff. And do not try their shuttle! We got wise and used uber. Worst vaca ever.
Even worse are the people that think they are impressing you by doing the narration LOUDER than the audio track. Hey, no one is impressed you rode this attraction 1,000 times and have it memorized.
Not gonna lie. I have trouble processing the words on the rides at Disneyland every now and then. With so many bodies pressed tight and my social anxiety being so bad. Sometimes someone narrating over the narrator is how I can hear the narration. They either need to turn the volume up more, or get a new remastered narrator who can enunciate their words better. Usually the guests speaking over the narration puts a creepy tone in their voice and they are STILL easier to understand then old outdated sound.
Kinda like the people that read every billboard you pass aloud, I guess to show off that they know how to read. (My mom on the shuttle from LV airport to the hotel: “Pretty,,,Kitty, Brazillian waxing…huh”)
I’m not a superfan by any means; I’ve been to Disneyland as a kid in the 1960’s and early 70’s, later in 90’s, and to Disney World around 2000. I loved every second of those trips. In the last 10 years I wanted to take my own kids to Disneyland in Ca where we live to share the experiences I had at their age, but the firsthand reports of crowds and long waits by friends has kept us from going. Now you can add the bad behavior of less civilized “guests” to the reasons not to go. I seriously doubt I will ever step foot in ‘Land or ‘World ever again. We may check on status of Tokyo park when we’re there, but I suspect it’s overcrowded as well (but better behaved!)

I have to agree with everyone’s comments about inconsiderate guests. It affects other areas as well such as Blue Bayou. Try having dinner with family and as the Pirates boats pass by yelling and hollering starts and not just one boat. These are grown men taking advantage of their loud voices echoing throughout. Of course nobody can see them.
My family and I were just at MK the day after Christmas.
During the Pirates ride, a lady would just not turn off the flashlight on her phone because she was scared. Ruined the ride for us.
I can agree with some of this, but telling people they shouldn’t enjoy the rides in their own way is also incredibly gatekeep-y. Is the Haunted Mansion your favorite ride, have you done countless ride-alongs on YouTube, and today is your first time ever to get to go on it in person? I *want* you too recite every word. Other people enjoying a ride doesn’t take away from my enjoyment of it. Want to sing along with the birds of the Enchanted Tiki Room? Sing like the birdies sing, my dude. Gatekeeping enjoyment that hurts literally no one is garbage.
So, if you go to a movie theater, you’re fine with people talking on their phone, using their flash lights or just overall being obnoxious while the movie is playing?
No, I’m not okay with that either. Although with the new style of seating at most theaters these days it’s hard to be affected by those using their phones unless they’re sitting next to me. And I definitely don’t mind people singing along with the songs on the ride… it’s those that are being excessively loud and obnoxious, showing off that they know the words that spoil it. It doesn’t bother me when people in queue talk about the ride…. if it’s a ride I haven’t been on, hearing about it sometimes help. If I’m bringing a grandchild who is new to the ride, if I hear there is a big noise, a jolt or sharp dip… I can prepare them for it, once we’re in our seats and on our way. I let them know what I heard and if it’s scary to hold on to me tightly.
Let me tell you what ruins it for me being in the parks.. or really in public in general. It’s the nonstop profanity I’m assaulted with. I don’t swear, my husband doesn’t swear.. my adult children and adult grandchildren don’t swear in front of us, or in gatherings that their parents/grandparents are also attending. Once when my kids were very young, I was frustrated with something I was trying to do. Almost under my breath.. I said, damn it! One kid was close enough and heard it. He yelled up the stairs that Mom swore. They all came running down and acted like I set the house on fire and ratted me out to their Dad when he got home who thought it hilarious. Of, course I got the same reaction from them as teens/young adults when I bought my first pair of Sketchers…. but I regress. It just spoils the ambiance of family and a good time. We have lost the art of courtesy in public.
So the problem is annual passholders/locals are waiting for new rides to open up , so now they are deriding the same rides over and over again, dont blame us blame Disney for not opening anything new yet! We are bored! We live here we aren’t on vacation!
Grim, Grimming Ghosts come out to socialize! What do you think the life of a Florida resident does? They go to Disney world and ride rides , over and over again. Of course we are going to have it memorized! Get used to it. There is no new rides at Disney world right now!
The absolute worst possible is when a girl directly behind me was screaming extremely loudly on Thunder Mountain. When I turned to give her the idea that it was hurting my ears she bowed forward to deliberately scream as loud as she could at the back of my head the entire ride. I know I would have gone to jail to have swung my fist behind my head, but it was assault on her part. I think I may have had my ears permanently damaged. I sometimes wish I would have screamed in her ear at the exit. What could I have done?
Stand inline for over a hour just to have a idiot ruin the ride by yelling to their kids or ride mate the next scene. Now I knew why Disney searches for weapons.
Not on the rides but on myost recent trip to Disney, constantly had idiots filming the fireworks show with their flash on. They were even shining it right behind someone’s head. So rude.
This past week I went to DL with my family. Some couple were so busy trying to rush and cut us at the entrance that the woman tripped on my Special Needs daughter. My daughter banged her knee pretty bad on the wall and the lady completely face planted and was laid out. The guy just stood there looking annoyed while my daughter tried to help her up. I ended up handing the chick her shoe. During the 40 minute wait I didn’t see them again until the guy pushed past us going back to the entrance again and found out from other people in line he claimed to be already on line with family. 10 minutes later he went back past us to his group. My sister in law was furious and I was a bit pissed as well. Having family wait in line is one thing but pushing past a little kid enough to trip on her and giving attitude is BS.

So rude.

People cry to much, this generation can’t handle anything.
