Based on how things are going at Disney, this is probably Part of their master plan. Increase lines. Sell product to people locked in for the next 4 hours.
This sux but it seems to ba making extra money.
I’m sure folks saw the line and decided to pay the extra to skip it. Then the lower class peasants who couldn’t buy extra genie, still can shell out an extra $6 for a drink while they wait in the line.
Looks like it’s a win-win sitch for old Scrooge McDuck (bob cheapskate)
Has Disney’s CEO started a rent a place holder for lines so the guest can go to the restroom? I can see it now $15 for a Disney employee to stand in your place so you can go relieve yourself or sell you an adult diaper.
What are you if you buy tickets and airfare and hotel accomodations to Disney world and you only go to the parks for maybe the 1st hour of the day… Otherwise there is no way you’re not waiting over 30 min
Why are the lines so long now when they are not at full capacity? They were never as long as they are now even before the pandemic and they had no capacity limits. It was rare that a park was completely full except for certain holidays. Do you think it is the changes to fast pass with LL and Genie Plus?
Get rid of Genie Plus, LL and put it back to what it was.
Guys here’s the issue! 1971 Walt Disney World magic kingdom.
1982 Epcot
1989 Studios
1998 Animal Kingdom
From the time Magic Kingdom opened until animal kingdom three parks will put in place within 27 years.
It’s been 23 years since they’ve added a park. They are about 15 years behind when another park should’ve been opened. They can raise the price to $300 a day it’s not going to alleviate the problem. The only thing that will make it work is more parks so the amount of people coming can be dispersed people start enjoying themselves again the wait time to go down and so on.
Obviously all the Parks in Asia have not had a huge impact on Florida attendance. And before somebody climbs on the pity party of Disney’s broke because of Covid and everything else I remind you that Universal who never gets anywhere near the attendance Disney days started another park before Covid and I was continuing what will be their biggest park for the same reason.
Agree. I’ve always said this. Can’t expect to have a decent wait when park attendance keeps going up but the amount of parks and attractions is relatively stagnant
This kind of situation is becoming commonplace, sadly. Along with increasing prices, and frequent fights breaking out all over the parks being reported by the media, Disney World is going to suffer long term consequences of their greed, I’m afraid. We are FL residents and Annual Passholders for many years. After our last visit in Nov, we will not be renewing our passes until things change. I love WDW but I was terribly disappointed in the LL, Genie+ and the attitudes of the Cast Members. Management has ruined the magic in their effort to maximize profits. When the 50th Anniversary fireworks show makes ZERO mention of Walt or Mickey and is more focused on being “woke”, that was it for me and my family. They have turned the CMs into “hall
Monitors” who spend their time stalking lines looking for mask violators instead of trying to make someone’s day magical- it’s a sad day for WDW. Someday, I hope things go back to the way they were but until then, I think a lot of us who go to WDW to experience the happiest pace on earth will be staying away.
Yep. All that matters is covid, covid, mask, mask, Omicron, smomichron…..
There has never been a mask mandate in this state, yet these woke corps keep up the charade. Literally millions of these worthless democrat diapers are going to be sitting it land fills for thousands of years. All quiet about that “health” issue.
I don’t know why they haven’t done this earlier with 4+ hour waits for rides. Remember even Universal had that at Hagrid’s, they could’ve done it then. God only knows if you have to use the restroom, those aren’t in ride buildings.
I’m an annual visitor (but not since Feb 2020) and have been approximately 13 times since 2007. I’ve NEVER waited in a line much longer than 1 hour. Since I’ve not been in so long, things must have changed. Example: I used to go on the Jungle Cruise on my way to Pirates. But, in the last 5 years or so, the Jungle Cruise line was almost always an hour, so I just kept walking to Pirates.
I have a question: Why would ANYONE wait 4-6 hours at Epcot to get a popcorn bucket. I still am amazed that so many people would waste that much time in the park for such…
I’d love to hear your thoughts on such thinking.
God Bless!
I’ll say in the case of the popcorn bucket, greed begets greed. People only buy that stuff so they can resell it. Just my opinion but it would be nice of Disney had only sold a limited amount per day. Now they’re completely sold out. I’m sure there are families who are coming during the next school break and were hoping to get one as a souvenir. It’s sad how the goal now is to be depraved in the name of money.
I guess i am just confused because my family and I were just there the 13th-20th and while we did pay for the genie plus pass and utilized lighting lanes we rode every single right at the parks and the longest line we waited in was the line for that stupid popcorn bucket, my kid could not live without… they sold out before she got one 🙁 Otherwise the longest line was for Ride of the Resistance and we waited for under 20 min for everything. We even managed bro ride some things like smugglers run and rise twice … Did we just get lucky?
Is this article from 2017? They’ve been selling food and drinks in the Navi River line ever since it Pandora opened lmao. Is this what counts as news now?

Since the plandemic we have lost… luggage service, magical express, magic bands, park hopping, fast passes (unless you pay for it), dining reservations more than 60 days out. And we’ve gotten… crappy new woke fireworks,
Lines are long because the free fast pass system was replaced by the greedy genie plus system that no one wants to pay for. Disney you should fire whoever is making decisions for you lately because clearly it’s not working!
I read somewhere that they take ten genie plus people for ever 1 standby person. No wonder the lines are so long. They want to make the wait miserable so everyone spends more money to skip the lines.
New rumor is that “Disney-parks” is officially partnering with “Uber-Line” so you can use the new “genie-minus” app and order an immigrant who sleeps in his car to come wait in line for you.
Thank you Bob and Dara

I saw that when we were there at the end of November.

The long lines caused me to leave a few times to go to the bathroom and to walk around some

You are an idiot if you stand in line for more than 30 minutes for ANY ride.

I think the fastpass system seems to have been better. And whoever’s it is that’s calling people an idiot needs to learn some manners and respect

The lightning pass and the genie have done nothing to illuminate the lines they’ve made them worse

I concur and we are also passholders. We average 48 to 52 Park admissions each year, but this is the last year that we will renew

Great idea to sell drinks & have bathrooms while waiting in long lines. Having more parks would be awesome too.

They need washrooms for those hour+ lines as well.

What is wrong with people! This ride isn’t worth a 35 minute wait! It’s so boring. I’d rather wait for Small world or Pirates.
