You are ruining Disney. There are just things you don’t change. A lot of girls still love dresses. It’s iconic. Throne thing Disney had going for it was no changes. That our children could experience the same magic that we did as children.
You do realize there is nothing wrong with changing it every so often right? I mean they changed the character design for the ride in Hollywood Studios and based it on the new show. This is literally for celebrating something and not a permanent change. People need to calm down about things being a little different…
Hi Jordan. The problem is what WDW is doing throughout with all of the “woke” inspired changes. It’s just another thing on top of others. We go to WDW to get away from all the social chaos of our society, and WDW throws it in our face.
I appreciate your right to voice your opinion, the above is mine….
There is a difference between changing a ride and changing a character. Changing a ride to match a movie or show IS NOT the same thing. Changing the way a character dresses (that is ICONIC) to meet the demands of the minority group (in this case the “woke” group) shows that the Head of Disney doesn’t care about the majority of us who like the original and is doing it for the money. Granted this is Paris and they have different ideas, but making Minnie wear a pants suit is just stuipd
On it’s own, the costume change is not a big deal, though when taken in context of all of the woke nonsense, it is the final straw. We’ve been disneyphiles since our first trip in the 1970’s and with the prices, crowds, poor service, and wokeness, we say no thanks and willl no longer return with our kids or grandkids.
Thank you Tommy. As a grandfather and long-time WDW fan, I completely agree. Why can’t they leave the social politics (i.e Wokeness) out the parks. We go there to escape all of the craziness of our society, not to pay big money to see it in our formerly favorite place.
When will it stop…?
I could care less what Minnie wears. What I am furious about is the animal mistreatment she commits in regards to Pluto during the opening scene of Mickey’s Runaway Railway. How that EVER got the green light is beyond my comprehension and needs immediate correction!
Wow. You are mad over a cartoon mouse apparently mistreating a cartoon dog? Guess you can’t watch movies any more then since Ratatouille was about someone chasing a rat with a knife. Guess Artistocats is wrong because the guy dumps cats in the middle of nowhere. It’s a cartoon and from what I remember Pluto is NEVER Mistreated by anyone
I live in Florida. Grew up watching Minnie changing outfits. Having jeans on dresses pants suits Ball gowns. If I remember correctly she wore an 80’s style pink suit but I may be wrong. The point I am trying to make is this the reason this is a big deal is because of politics. I am sorry but family oriented places that you are suppose to have fun enjoy your time be happy should be like any other gathering with Strangers or co workers leave politics and religion out. If you make a change it is because of the season trying something new. Not to please a Group or get more money. I have boycotted Disney’s parks since the beginning of the Pandemic and I got to see how they treated their employees 1st hand over their suits then how they treated their guests. Until they realize who pay their checks and makes Disney possible I prefer no to support any of their parks.
Leave her with her dresses, so, cute she looks..now the pants look like pajamas, ridiculous, why if she wears pants, that means she a girl, of course, & wearing a dress, that’s our Minnie..
I totally agree with Taryn! You can’t change Magic! I’m so glad that this isn’t happening at Disney World right now. I have watched the wonder and excitement of my children and grandchildren as they see and meet Minnie and Mickey for the first time. It is nothing less than amazing. Also, Minnie looks like she is going to a slumber party with boys pajamas. What’s wrong with her red and white polka dots? There is nothing wrong with being a girl. It seems like everyone wants to change us.
Leave Minnie alone. She’s already an icon and more famous than all of us.
Jana – I agree with you and your husband. Leave the social politics out of the parks! It used to be our escape from this nonsens…
(from a long-time WDW fan and grandpaw 🙂).
I agree with you Jana! We were at Disney World last month with 5 of our grand children ages 2,3,4,10&11. I’m so glad they could easily tell Minnie from Mickey. Disney World has been magical for 50 years! We traveled over 1,000 miles to get there on our honeymoon 43 years ago, took our sons a few times and now our grandchildren. Please, don’t destroy the magic by making the place unisex!
I don’t think they’re trying to say there’s anything wrong with being a girl, just that being a girl doesn’t have to equal a fancy dress. As I understand it, they wanted to give Minnie a new outfit for women’s history month, and this just happened to be the outfit they went with. This is in Paris only anyway. After women’s history month ends, she goes right back to normal.
You do all realize this isnt the 1st time minnie is in pants most of the 80s totally minnie era she wore jeans tee and cardigan nobody complained then! Most people i know still copy that look today because not many people wear dresses all day long! And at least minnie in loungewear or everyday wear is easier to dress like the icon besides we are all adults no adult is wearing a polka dot dress 247!
Hi Harley.
I think the problem here is all of the Woke-inspired changes WDW is making (even though this is only for Paris). Traditional, regular WDW visitors are sick of it and anything like this sparks comments.
I know Minnie has had several outfits, however, this look is tragic. They could have come up with a much better design. The pant suit looks like she’s heading off to a slumber party! That and the fact that Disney is pandering the woke! Feminism is nothing to be ashamed of! Feminism is beautiful, yes it can be done in pant suits, dresses, skirts even jeans, this look is obvious they are wanting to go “gender fluid” as you can’t tell if the pant suit ( if that’s what you want to call) if the suit is for men or women. I’m sure they will put Mickey in it as well. Minus the bow 😑 anyone else over this woke crap? 🙋🏻♀️
I am tired of you conservatives whining about everything. Get a grip it is just an outfit. Oh and Trump lost over 14 months ago. Deal with it you big cry baby!
I don’t mind the change as it is for an anniversary and not permanent. However my first thought was she was in pajamas. I didn’t realize it was a suit. I agree it needed to be a much better design. Besides girls live clothes and Minnie is not exception, changing it up is what we do.
Or maybe Kamala? We go to WDW to escape the craziness of the world. It always was a safe place and brought us back to a much safer and calmer time. Enough with the “woke” BS!!
It’s ugly and stupid-looking. Poor Walt would be turning over in his grave.. A cast member told me recently that the corporate people are trying to get rid of anything “traditional” as part of the resort. It is really a shame. It’s not even affordable anymore.😢
Stacee – Thanks for the comment. The few corporate Wokers are ruining the uniquess and innocense of WDW. The sad thing is, Disney leadership (a term used loosely here) is letting them get by with it. They need to undo what has been done, and say NO to any more woke-inspired changes.
Jordan, you do realize that you can just leave your own comment in support of Disney’s decision instead of having to respond to comments you disagree with, right? it’s like you stalk this sight ready to give someone your irrelevant opinion of their irrelevant opinion.
I think that some traditions shouldn’t change. Iconic Minnie dresses are just that, traditional and very iconic to her. Forever! Leave Minnie in her beautiful dresses.
I’ll add keeping Splash Mountain, and restoring some of the genuine Disney features that has made it special for generations. The changes they are making now are for a few, loud voices that will fade away, along with long-time customers like us…
Not a fan. Although pant suit concept I’d fine, but why so dark?
Minnie mouse is known for wearing bright colors. Dark blue and black spots? Terrible color palette!
I dont see the big deal with this? From a design standpoint it’s not a great look on Minnie due to the color palette (she definitely needs something with a bit more liveliness) but it’s not as if this is a permanent change. And everyone complaining about Disney being ‘woke’ now is really just showing off that they don’t want the company to cater to anyone but themselves and what they think is ‘acceptable’. Society changes, get over it.
I am a woman and wear nothing but skirts and dresses. That does not make me weak but strong. Why should I take the look of a man when I am a woman and proud to be!
While I agree it looks like PJs I have no problem with it at all. And do a Goggle search, Minnie wore pants in the 80s and she looked marvelous! Lighten up people!
Now the weird cartoon Mickey look in Creations Shop, EPCOT, that I don’t like.
The “why” for this time is that for women’s history month, they wanted to give Minnie an new outfit by a female fashion designer. This is what she made for her. It just happens to have pants, just like Minnie’s casual outfit just happened to have pants.
It’s time to leave your woke nonsense outside the WDW parks. Let us enjoy the Magic through the eyes of our children and grandchildren. You’ve had your platform on other places in the media. Let this one go.
Here’s the thing folks. Money talks. If you keep paying the high prices for everything Disney they will keep raising them. If they keep this woke attitude with everything they do and you keep paying they will keep up the wokeness. There should be a boycott Disney month where they get the message loud and clear that the changes they are implementing do not appeal to the fanbase. Can you stay away from Disney in every way for a month? Say, May. Let’s do May as boycott Disney month. If you want to start now, do it. I have a long time ago. I love my memories I had at the parks, but I recently went and wasn’t pleased with several things I saw.
Womens month my ass! Think of all the new Merchandising profits & at the same time looking “woke” to keep all of Frances famous protesters away from the front gate!
I hear that Disney is changing its theme from the Disney: The Land of Magic to Disney: The land of the Androgynous. Though, maybe they should not use the name Disney either. It refers to a CIS white male, which anymore is a sin. Maybe rename it as George Floyd Land: The Land of The Androgynous.
Think im being ridiculous? Check out what disney is doing to Snow White.
So they are making a change for a small group of people who do not feel seen within a company that has constantly peddled backwards gender norms on both sides of the spectrum at the expense of everyone else in the world?
Hi, I’m confused. Why are we talking about this? How is this a controversy? It’s Disney Paris 30th anniversary and she’s getting a one time day make over. ITS NOT PERMANENT. There’s so many comments that think this is a permanent thing….some of the comments seem like you people are attracted to mini in really weird ways. Y’all need therapy
What a bunch of woke ass fools. So ignorant and so pathetic are the Disney CEOs and anyone else that goes along with this. I’ll never go again. Everyone needs to boycott. This is disgusting and all about the control of anyone that will not comply to the new order of our government. All these big corporations are on board. The American people need to start fighting back.
i do not like it. outfit is so dark. Minnie looks great in red dots. looks like she wants to be a man in dark blue outfit. leave Minnie alone or put her in something more playful
I’m a feminist tomboy who still likes putting on a pretty dress. Leave Minnie and the rest of the Classic Walt characters alone. Creating a new character if you need a SJW one.
This needs to stop. Not everybody needs to dress neutral. Whatever your pronouns are good for u I’m glad your happy, but not everyone needs it shoved down their throat. Change is great my child will never get to see or experience any of the things I got to.
Why are people such babies? Seriously… who the hell cares if Minnie also wears pants suits? It’s not replacing the dresses! It’s just another outfit that is going into rotation! How do conservatives complain about and get offended by literally everything and then have the gall to call other people “snowflakes”?
So if it’s targeted towards children why even pander towards anything other than the core of what Disney has been? Kids do not know or care about sexual preferences and gender this and gender that. They only get that from their parents that push it on them. Resistance to this woke stuff isn’t bc ppl are phobic about anything. It’s bc they’re being told to change their vision of things for someone else. A vision that has been the same for decades. Why not just make a gender fluid character and see how well that goes over? We need to start recognizing mental disorders again. I’m sure you’ll say that is phobic of something.
So sad to see this change in Minnie! I mean if she had to be given a pantsuit why did you pick the most absolute UGLIEST one! Make one using her traditional colors red/white/yellow/black! This is NOT OUR MINNIE ANYMORE!!!! * cries a bazillion tears *

Minnie’s new outfit makes her look like Michael Jackson.
Will Daisy get a similar outfit?
