If there had been less local opposition to the whole project I bet there would be more stops. Not too many, though, so as not to make the trip longer.
Agreed that a stop near Cocoa could at least pull a large amount of tourist vehicle traffic off the coast corridor. I plan to use it next time I visit.
I cannot wait until the bright line is ready and connected from here in Tampa to Orlando as we only have one vehicle. It will be so convenient for us then!
There still has been no word on how visitors will benefit by taking the train from MCO to Disney Springs. Mainly transferring luggage from airport to train and what happens with the luggage upon arrival to Disney Springs. Then there’s the issue about how to get to the resorts from Disney Springs, and the luggage thing.
I wish there was more explanation on this, but typical Disney fashion, announce a big plan with little details for people to get hyped about.

It needs to stop in Cocoa or at the port to be of any use to the East Coast. Otherwise all we get is the train traffic and noise.

I was there in late November and early December and there was no train stop and no sign of any construction so it looks like you are correct.
