Halloween may be nearly 10 months away, but Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort are deeply entrenched in the planning stages of their popular Halloween Horror Nights event.

Because of the pandemic, a full Halloween Horror Nights didn’t take place in 2020, but to the delight of Universal fans everywhere, the event returned in 2021, and because of the high turnout, there are expectations that 2022 could be the biggest year yet.

Halloween Horror Nights Creative Director John Murdy posted on Twitter that they had finished the full treatment for the second maze at Universal Studios Hollywood. He promised to bring some new props that have never been used before at the event.

Finished the complete treatment for maze #2. Very excited about bringing this one to HHN at USH and excited to use some props that have been in our warehouse for years & never been used for the event. Why? They’re very large & very specific. They’ll have to go in before the walls!

Universal Studios Hollywood’s official description of Halloween Horror Nights reads:

Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood brings together the stories and visions of the world’s most notorious creators of horror. Enter mind-ripping mazes. Face nightmarish creatures in sinister scare zones. Lose yourselves in outrageous live entertainment. And escape to some of the park’s most exhilarating attractions.

Thanks to fans like you, Halloween Horror Nights came back with a vengeance in 2021. We can’t wait to terrify you again.

In 2021, Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood had seven haunted mazes and three scare zones.

The slogan was ‘Never Go Alone,’ and the mazes included The Haunting of Hill House, Universal Monsters: The Bride of Frankenstein Lives, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Exorcist, The Curse of Pandora’s Box, Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (Hollywood), and The Walking Dead attraction. In addition, the Terror Tram was back with theming from The Purge franchise.

Will you be making plans to go to Halloween Horror Nights in 2022?
