As someone who was 10 years old when the 1st Star Wars was released, and has been completely devoted to the franchise most of my life, I continue to be disappointed every time Disney drops new info on the Starcruiser hotel.
It honestly feels like the people responsible for this project have barely watched the movies that spawned everything (New Hope, Empire, Return)
Considering g what a huge SW & Disney Fanatic I am, my Friends & Family are shocked I’m not going crazy wanting to book this experience. But I get more & more bummed every time new info is released.

What you expected a luxury cruiser to look old and decrepit. Dont be an idiot.

The purple alien is ‘The High Republic’s’ version of a long standing species who were originally written as green skinned, geometrically tattooed Mirialans. Just another example of new writers and creators not understanding long standing Star Wars and established species within the Star Wars universe. As soon as I heard this ‘attraction’ was associated with the High Republic, I immediately switched off. Disney can keep all of it and I will keep my money. Universal is looking really good right now. And cheaper too.

George Lucas… please for the love of God, please take Star Wars back. Please.

Don’t be an idiot. Star wars is better now than it’s ever been.

Don’t be like Daryl, guys. Don’t be an idiot. 🤣

Why so he can just keep re-releasing just tweaked versions of the original three movies. Please, under Lucas Star Wars was very stagnant

To be fair, this video is meant for people who have booked, it is not promotional, it is just meant to be a fun tongue in cheek welcome video. Nothing they put out will be seen as good because it’s too expensive and exclusive

@Mattsteveal, I hope that you are correct! I’m going on the second voyage in March and I truly hope that it lives up to the price tag! Just sayin’!😜 If it doesn’t, I too shall write a scathing review indeed!👩🏽‍⚖️🤔

I agree. And people complaining that the ship is clean haven’t paid much attention to the movies. I, for one, am still excited about the idea of going. Not that I can afford it, but I’m still optimistic. Galaxy’s Edge is incredible. They’re not going to strive for mediocrity with this project.

    Disney ruined Star Wars

Disney’s business model has been “we can do whatever we want and charge whatever we want and people will keep coming”. So far, they have been right.

This Star Wars hotel is yet another example of this. For the princely sum of $4000.00, $6000.00 and up, you will get to have a generic, cheap, and lackluster “experience” and you will be happy to pay it because… Magic.

Some people will actually pay the outrageous price for this generic space ship(ish) experience, but I doubt there are enough of them to keep this going for the long haul. One and done.

The only magic left at Disney is the magical way they suck money from your wallet. It’s part of their new program to enhance the guest experience… Extortion+!

I quit Disney in 2017. Disney turned into an expensive rat race and any magic that was there was canceled out by the aggravation. I loved the Disney Parks, so I keep tabs on them hoping that they fix their problems.

    It’s not happening…

I agree. I don’t think the board of directors, Chapek, D’Armoro, or anyone cares about their fans/customers. If I were a major stockholder I would want many changes up top. Walt would never settle for less than perfect and would spend the money up front, not worrying about the cost to make sure it is up to his standards. The problem is, the standards are low and getting lower and the suckers keep coming. If everyone stopped using Genie+ and complained in every way possible it would go away. I can’t wait for the reviews of this experience. I am a fan, and I could have done a better job with everything I have seen thus far with this project.

You “quit Disney”, yet here you are on a blog about Disney, crying like a little child still. Haha

        STFU jackass!

It looks to me like Disney is hedging its bets on the theming of the Galactic Starcruiser hotel so if they lose the license for Star Wars, they can convert it to… I donno, Captain EO, maybe?

What an idiotic comment. Lose the license to Star Wars? Disney owns Star Wars (lucasfilm) outright as of 2012.

It’s called humor, perhaps you are not familiar with this concept.

It really does seem more like Star Trek. I think the ship being clean is just fine although I get the irony of it since it’s supposed to be old. However, imho, what is going to make or break this experience besides if people will keep paying the very high price, will be the characters that will be on it. After all character dining food isn’t the best food, we pay for the characters. IF they can have enough exposure of the main characters like Rey and Kylo then guests will be pleased. But if Disney thinks a small show and a singer at a meal will carry it, then it may just fail. If I were paying that kind of money for less than two days, even if it doesn’t make sense in the timeline, I would want to see the Emperor and Darth somehow. Maybe witnessing a flashback scene that the force allows us to? Idk. And for sure an extreme presence of Rey, Kylo, Chewie, BB8, etc. Idk, but if Disney hires enough staff and keeps them aboard, then it may go well. When covid hit. I thought about this project and how it may just ruin it. How many cast members want to be that close and spend that much time indoors with people expecting nothing short of an Oscar winning performance???
