Canceled my family reservation a week ago. For a family of 5 we were paying $7,800. Full refund was back on my card in 3 days. We are still going to Disney for the same week, just staying on property somewhere else. What made me finally bail was the video sent out to reservation holders. Terms such as “cozy” and “steps away from your cabin” all scream small and cramped. My family lost all the excitement that had been building up when we heard about this project. We will wait and see, but we’ll let someone else beta test this experience first.
We’re still a go! Our family of 4 will happily ‘beta test’ the experience. The March ‘sailings’ will be Disney Imagineering at it’s finest – I have no doubt. I’m looking forward to 6 meals on board what will be something even more amazing and immersive than Space 220 – and everyone who goes there is thrilled with that experience – both the food and the environment. Not knowing every detail of how this will play out is a risk, but part of what’s so exciting about a thrill ride is not knowing what’s around each turn, yet always ending up entertained and happier for the experience! So, keeping it all in perspective here – this is groundbreaking entertainment. I am thrilled that we will be embarking on our March adventure as some of the first passengers aboard the Halcyon.
I agree with Eddie. The finished product is sad AF! For what they are charging the walls should be plated in C-3PO style gold cladding and not this B-B8 BS
It would be less expensive to attend a Comic-Con Convention where there would be less Cosplay restrictions (and this is too controled regarding what you can do vs Star Wars fan should be in a free roaming environment choosing what to do from a variety of activities experiences rides attractions).
This is so Chapek Cheap it is embarrassing, I wish George Lucas would pay Team Disney Burbank a visit and say, “guys you are ruining my intellectual property that I handed over to you!”
What kinds of people would pay that kind of money for a hotel room? You have to be out of your mind!
It’s just a HOTEL….no matter how fancy, it’s just a HOTEL. If you want to spend that kind of money on a Disney experience, take a Disney cruise – they are fabulous and worth the high price tag!
If you don’t consider the money at all, the SW hotel is just unattractive to my family. It’s very small with merely 100 rooms, with corresponding very small lobby and everything else. It has no windows or balcony that you can step outside to breathe fresh air, and we are in the midst of omicron. It has no outside landscaping, not even a parking lot. It has no pool or water slide for the kids. It does not provide transportation anywhere except for Hollywood Studios, and that at limited hours. It provides 3 meals a day, which is good, but the food is heavily colored which I don’t like. It won’t let you stay as long as you need, but make you move out in 2 days, no more no less. I’d rather stay at All Stars for the same money. At least there, I can step outside and enjoy the fresh air and Florida sunshine any time I want, which is the whole point for going to Florida. I thought at least the inside of the hotel would be decked up to look like a space ship, but it’s not. The hallway just looks like a standard decent (but not 5 star) hotel. The rooms are definitely smaller and less luxurious looking than any 5 star hotel. I’d rather be at All Stars. Then I can go to MK any time on the bus and have the entire Disney World to experience.
You do realize this is an immersive experience, right? As in, you are on a star cruiser traveling the galaxy with your family. Of course there isn’t going to be a balcony for you to walk out on or a parking lot. There is tons of things to do on the cruiser where you don’t need a pool to go on, especially if you think about the fact you are there for the parks and the experience. I think you missed the point of this place…
We get it Jordan your a Disney fan boy who will gladly take the experience and be delightfully happy, doubtful you’ve ever paid that kind of money for an “Immersive experience” after you waste your five thousand dollars (that you get from EBT fraud) tell us how it went
I’m not sure if you are just a racist or an idiot….probably both. First, just because I’m a fan doesn’t mean I’m willing or able to spend that kind of money to do it, nor does it mean I would want to spend that kind of money if I could. Second, just because I’m black doesn’t mean I’m on EBT, just means I’m cooler than most. I have a full time job that allows me to afford most things besides rent. So I can go to disney, but on my own dime 😛
If you have a job why can’t you afford to go to a dentist? working full-time at Walmart pushing carts in isn’t job or a skill, fanboy . at least you can admit your too poor to go, spent your stimulus checks on Nike shoes, didn’t ya?
Oh, I get it! You are troll! That makes more sense than a racist idiot. At least a racist idiot can’t help being so stupid. You just want to piss people off. Cute lmao. I never said I was poor 😛
Mates, this is why Australia hates America You are over indulgent , critical, racist, self serving , egotistical , brash and rude to each other . Shame on you all for being so brash.
RE: Australia hates America
First I’ve heard of this.
As a military veteran, I’ve always looked at Australia as a great ally of ours an appreciate what they’ve accomplished in the past.
Your comment does not change my feelings towards Australia as an ally – just sad some feel this way…
As a long-time Disney fan, I just can’t see how someone could pay what they are asking for a few nights/days.
Disney even offering such seems extreme, and promotes more criticism against what many are calling their “greed”.
I blame Disney leadership for the many changes they’ve made or are proposing, including:
1. Retheming Splash Mountain for very poor reasons
2. Retheming Epcot from a unique, beautiful, and interesting informational theme park to just another Magic Kingdom
Very sad…
This likely has just as much to do with the COVID situation as the promo material, if not more so. If I am paying 6K+ for an immersive experience, I don’t want to have to wear a mask during it. It would ruin the entire thing. I will wait until COVID is done with thanks.
This really should have been a standard nightly rate of 400 – 600 a night. The experiences could be add ons. Going this path would not require expectations to be over the top to justify the price.

We can’t compare this to American Idol or the NBA Experience, because, darnit…this was an attraction we guests WANTED to see! 🙁

So, how did it look to people who KNEW it was supposed to be a “cruise”, and that the cabins were meant to be designed to Disney Cruise Line scale?

You do realize this was in the works before Chapek took over…right? People need to stop hating on this before they’ve actually seen everything for it.
