One of the most beloved attractions at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.
In just a couple of years, Disneyland Resort will be adding its own version of the popular ride.
While many rides at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort are almost identical and even most of the newly developed follow the same blueprint — like TRON Lightcycle Run– there are other attractions where scenes are slightly changed or line queues are just a little different.
As Disneyland continues to develop Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, there are speculations that this ride could have additional scenes compared to the one inside of Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
A new permit supposedly filed by Disney this month shows that this ride will have 16 scenes including the preshow, which is three more than the defined scenes at the attraction in Disney’s Hollywood Studios (13 total scenes). This permit was found in DSNY Newscasts’ latest YouTube video.

It should be noted that nothing has been confirmed by Disney at this point. However, there’s a wide variety of speculation that believes the attraction may have a couple more scenes for Guests to ride through because the attraction is being built from scratch.
This is different from the ride in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, which was built inside the Chinese Theater where The Great Movie Ride used to reside.
Disney’s official description of Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway reads:
Burst into Mickey and Minnie’s World
The darling duo are taking a leisurely drive to a picnic in their sporty roadster—with Engineer Goofy’s train following merrily along. Plot twist—you get to go, too!
