Please don’t insult those that don’t find this “pieces“ of ancient history funny. Pay phones are absolutely not something obsolete or ancient. Just because you’re young and ignorant doesn’t excuse you. I’d still use them if they’d be back. As would many of our more cultured and informed generation.
The phone booth in the UK pavilion at EPCOT used to have a working pay phone. We put the number in our cell phones and used to call it to see who would answer and then chat with them for a bit.
Neither shocking nor hilarious. The writer needs to familiarize himself with a dictionary and what those words mean so he can use them accurately and/or needs to get out more.
My son and I wrote down the number to the pay phone at Disneyland in New Orleans Square one time and would make prank calls to whoever answered. Oh the good old days.
Many of the payphones at Disney World were replaced with defibrillators. They are also connected to dial tone and are programed to call emergency services when the units are removed. The accompanying payphones (most came in pairs) were replaced with house phones so people could call 911. There are no remaining payphones at WDW. They were removed by Smart City Telecom years ago.

Claim that pay phones are racist… Paycheck and his lot will have them removed or “re-themed” within a month.

There are numerous payphones in epcot that work. Uk, Morocco, China, Experience Center, Entrance just to name a few.

I find this article juvenile and snarky. “A landline, stop the presses!” Grow up and try writing something substantial.
