This is what happens when you make Disney available to everyone willing to go in debt just for a pass.
Monthly payment plans and lack in clientele go hand in hand.
Sadly , the public is getting more entitled everyday , no one cares about anyone else, it’s all about themselves. We are local and go often but I tell our family all the time , sit quietly like it’s your first time , for others it is.
I agree & for some it’s their only time. I see it more at Disneyland because it’s a locals park. Some people have spent ages saving & it’s their first, one & only, once in a lifetime trip. Let’s not ruin it for them. 🙂
I’ve been to Disney World many times between 2002 and 2013 and very rarely did I encounter anyone terribly rude, but maybe I was just lucky. I just don’t understand why it’s so difficult to be considerate of others around you. I don’t get it.
Steve. You need help. It’s people like you that are the problem not anyone you need to crawl back in the hole you came out of. And please stay out of the parks.
One of my pet peeves is when small children start screaming in the middle of shows and their parents refused to either discipline them or take them out of the show so the rest of the audience can enjoy it. Another one is when guests jump in front of other guests who are in scooters in the middle of Main Street just to take a picture of Cinderella Castle. The castle is stationary! It’s not going anywhere! There’s no reason to step in front of people using scooters in the middle of Main Street just to take a picture of a castle that isn’t moving!
Steve’s comments are an example of:
1. How divided we are
2. A complete lack of manners and civility that exists in our society.
I’m 69 and have seen divisions before (late-60s for example). But never so low and tasteless (i.e. “die from covid”)
I don’t see this division going away either – very sad.
AGREED! Sad but true & they’re the same sad creatures who will complain about a child doing it FFS! If they’re under 10 IDGAF what they’re doing, I might even find it funny. Babysitters can be expensive if not impossible to nail down, I’ll see the movie again eventually! At least this is age appropriate. I’ve seen NWH twice & the children & people with Special needs were much less annoying than the 💩heads who were complaining about them during the movie😂
Really? You are blaming Trump for rude people? 🙄 The real problem is the leftist democrats who let all the criminals out of jail and then defunded the police.
Maybe Hillary’s black eyebrows and dyed blonde hair? Bill’s use of cigars before smoking them, Whitewater, Travelgate, Vince Fosters death, Paula Jones, Monica Lewinsky (see above), Gennifer Flowers, Filegate, genocide in Bosnia, just to name a few of Bill’s failures/transgressions. Society as a whole was not pathetic, just Bill and Hillary.
Went to WDW over Thanksgiving and this irritated me! People were on their phones during pretty much all the dark rides/shows we went on (really annoyed me when they did it during Haunted Mansion). Seriously, are you really going to go back and watch your crappy footage of some attraction when there are way better quality videos on YouTube? I have the same feelings about people who feel the need to film fireworks shows on their phones.
It annoys me as well to the point where I have asked them to stop playing with their phones. That being said, Disney has kind of solicited this behavior by tying the ENTIRE PARK EXPERIENCE to your cell phones now. Just try looking up and taking in the experience…. But not “My Disney Experience” because that requires a phone
Yes. It is terrible while on a dark ride or in a theatre show. The manners and respect of others have disappeared in this country. People talk loudly, use cell phones, use devices that light up including the flashlight on their phone. J haven’t seen it but I am told some people have sex on these rides. Can’t Disney control this?
I complained about my experiences to Disney itself 15 years ago. A miserable experience that has only gotten worse and will worsen and worsen until Disney is fully employed and has the gumption to throw people out who can’t follow the instructions of staff. Move to the end of the row, shut your mouth and keep off your phone.
People don’t give a crap anymore and think they all are “entitled”. Someone needs to grab a few of these by the throat and toss them out. Disney needs to clamp down and start setting some examples. Ashamed a few have to ruin these experiences for all.
I confess I have been guilty of the dark ride cell phone rudeness in the past. When my niece was very little she was afraid of the dark and the only way we could get her on Pirates was if I let her use my cell phone so she had a little bit of light so she could enjoy the ride.
Why Is this in the least surprising ? Disney has done everything they can to make cell phones essential as the official must have to manage a Disney vacation so it’s zero surprise that idiots are being idiots. We saw this becoming an issue years ago when Disney made the choice to have everything go through the app. It will only get worse.
Besides this on rides and in shoes, my pet peeve is when I finally find a nice dark spot to sit down and watch the fireworks and some idiot box decides they need to film them with the camera light at full brightness and it illuminates the area like a mini sun. I know you can’t control others actions, but it does also seem like this is getting worse and cast members won’t step in and say something g like they have done in the past.
Honestly I love how you’re blaming all the adults when it’s also adults it by these seven and eight year old kids cell phones and they’re glued to their cell phones 24/7 y’all ain’t any better when you’re buying these kids cell phones at such a young age all they do is play video games or play on their phone or play on their tablet and y’all don’t see a problem with it but yet you’re going to blame the adults that want to either video record a ride or might be texting somebody that split off from them at a park.
You want to fix entitlement stop buying your kids everything they want. Stop getting them cell phones and videogames because you as a parent are to lazy to take them to a park or make them go outside and play.
Folks needed a way to spend those government stimulus and child tax credit checks. What better way than to visit Disney. Never mind that that money was intended to cover groceries, day care and living expenses. Welfare checks and food stamps were enough for cigarettes and beer but never enough to cover the cost of a Disney trip. Expect more of this at the Parks as the the current administration’s America’s Family Plan has BILLION$ more in tax dollar giveaways in place and more coming. Cell phones in the Carousel of Progress will be the least of our worries….Your tax dollars at work?
Those tax dollars “come out of” the pockets of hard working Americans before they “go towards” the pockets of “rude Americans”. And no need to look at foreign countries, your tax dollars are funding people who hate “us” right in the good ole USA. How do you think Congress, the Senate and the Executive branch get paid? And they’re the same ones who approve “funding” for foreign aid, even for those countries that “hate us”.
Had this happen at Disney Springs theater with people in front of us using their cell phones. Granddaughter asked politely if they would please turn off their phones. They shined the phone directly in her eyes. Granddaughter stood up and left…..but came back with the manager and 2 security guards. Manager spoke politely too the family but the family was soon escorted out. They just didn’t get idea of no cell phones or being rude.
I believe the root cause of all of this is the lack of discipline and concept of responsibility.
It is pitiful what parents let their little children do and get away with.
I’m 69 and never found discipline to have “ruined” my life, my children’s lives, nor my grandchildren’s lives.
What I see more and more is parents talking and reasoning with their children vs. telling them how it is.
I saw this once in church – a Dad told a son (guess around 10) to be quiet and the son stuck his tongue out at the Dad. I would have taken him to the bathroom and given him a much needed spanking.
The teachers used to be able to provide a needed paddling when needed. Not now – they’d be put in jail for such.
No discipline, no responsibility, and this is what you get…
Physical violence against your child is a lazy person’s tool for discipline because it requires no effort. Speaking to your child and explaining WHY it’s important to do XYZ takes time, patience and effort and today’s parents can’t unglue themselves from social media long enough to focus on their kids
Isn’t it amazing when parents try to “train” their children at Disneyworld, a restaurant or store? Expectations of behavior and respect begin at home and it carries over into social settings. Always amazing to see parents try to discipline their children in public and the look on the childs face is like “what, I act like this all the time and you never said anything before”. What’s really depressing is when the parent gets physical with the child in public (or at home). Then they are teaching the child something, that its ok to get physical when you don’t like something.
All you idiots on here making this a political thing… I hope you get COVID 10x and die.
Anyway, on something actually relevant here… wtf is this article talking about Impressions de France for? Hasn’t that attraction been closed and gone for years?
Most of those filming in the dark are vloggers… Disney needs to rethink their view that vloggers are influencers, they are not! They are avatars, why go to Disney and spend your money when you can gives a vlogger’s film for free!
Was there in August and a short woman literally HELD UP AN IPAD with Facebook Live going to record the ENTIRE fireworks show. We had waited an hour to make sure we had a good spot. When the crowd started to press in (as it normally does) she was standing right in front of us with a giant, bright tablet at night. I was disgusted. Think of others and less about your social media.

Disney parks should require the rule phone’s prohibited for all dark rides, on the Disney parks website rules.

Scooters are some of the most inconsiderate folks inside the parks. Makes me wish the whole place was nothing but stairs.
