Once we announced that Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade was added to Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane, many did not hesitate to express their frustrations. Inside the Magic Facebook follower Todd G. commented:

so you pay now to watch a parade in a sweet spot? so many $$$improvements$$$

And another Disney fan Garret H. said:

Do they not see the negative public reaction to these shenanigans?

Kim E. chimed in saying she will be going to Universal Orlando instead:

That’s it, Universal Studios has my money and we will be sipping Butterbeer while laughing at how things are getting even more ridiculous.

Which is something Emily J. also expressed:

It’s not even worth it anymore. We went in September, super crowded, from former Disney cast members things have changed, and not for the better. Universal Studios has my money now

Meanwhile, Amanda W. brought up the comparison to how Festival of Fantasy used to be an option through FastPass+:

Does no one remember Festival of Fantasy being included as a fastpass+ option?

And Holly P. said:

What is the big deal? Don’t like it? Don’t pay. You still see the parade. This is no different than the parade viewing option they offered for fast pass.

We do want to note that the only difference between Festival of Fantasy being a choice on FastPass+ verses Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade being added to Lightning Lane is that Guests have to pay an additional fee for Disney Genie+, whereas FastPass+ was included in your Walt Disney World Park ticket.
