  1. This Splash Mountain re theme is not going to share the same success as the Tower of Terror re theme.
Everyone is not liking it. Hopefully by 2022 it will be canceled and we won’t have to hear about it anymore.
Other than that a lot of angry people will get Disney to sign a contract to not aloud anymore classic attractions getting re themes in the Disney Parks after Walt Disney’s work.

I hope you are right Joseph. I hate to think of Splash Mountain being replaced, especially for no good reason…

      1. Marie Wyke

What exactly do you mean by that statement please?

    2. Marie Wyke

You can ONLY speak for yourself, I personally LOVE all of the attractions. You do have a right to WALK PAST the ones you don’t like. Let it go!!!!

    3. I agree with you

  2. Please. Stop talking about the Splash Mountain re theme. No one wants to hear about it anymore.

I don’t think they are stupid enough to retheme a ride that keeps long lines!!! They can’t be that stupid. They have enough room to ADD another theme ride. Since Mr. Disney’d death, Disney has lost something, it’s like the new creators just don’t have that ummph for entertainment that he did.

      1. Fixwhatsbroke

        Agreed.

What a disaster Disney parks have become. To the small food portion or obsolete food options to rethemes. The quality has just vanished. No longer is that true disney feeling from long ago. Just get rid of the park altogether because that’s where it’s going. Tomorrow land has lots of work that needs to be done but instead these people who you call imagineers are definitely interested in other things. Hate that I can no longer feel excited about Disneyland! Same decorations every year, for holidays and yet not enough decorations..big bad dream.

      I totally agree

Even Cinderella’s castle doesn’t do it for me anymore. I have recently been there looking for the dancing in front of the castle, not happening, just isn’t worth the money anymore

Well thank god for that stay of execution at least … if we can truly consider Twitter a reliable source.

Agreed, hopefully by 2022 the snowflake cancellers will come to their senses and cancel their own mindless coddling madness.

SO MUCH TO CELEBRATE IN THE STORYTELLING HERITAGE THAT SPLASH MOUNTAIN ELEVATES (and not just dusted sunset backdrops and squeegeed flumes).

    Good GOD, people.

        AMEN!!!!

I don’t care how long it takes. Not interested in taking away a wonderful ride just to make everyone happy. The sensitivity theses days is pathetic. It’s sad history was a bad thing instead of teaching people it’s part of what made us.

How can you compare a retheme to Splash Mountain with what has happened with Jungle Cruise. With Jungle Cruise what they have done is remove anything that in their opinion could offend anyone whereas with Splash Mountain there really is nothing about the ride itself that could offend anyone. With Disney’s current lack of imagination they are either making live action movies of old Disney animated movies or making movies based on existing Disney park rides. So why not make a new movie based on the current Splash Mountain theme so that the ride is associated with the new movie rather than being linked to a movie made 75 years ago after the abolition of slavery. Give Tiana her own ride or what she wanted in the movie, a restaurant of her own

    1. Fixwhatsbroke

      GREAT idea. Kudos.

Upon initially hearing of the idea, the immediate kneejerk way I could see Tiana coming into – what truly is among – the top marriage of experience and story ever imagineered would be if she herself took up the storytelling mantle of her cherished old uncle. Tales of yore.

“Now this here tale didn’t happen just yesterday …
Nor the day before. ‘Twas along time ago.
And in them days, everything was mighty satisfactual.
The critters, they was closer to the folks…
And the folks, they was closer to the critters…
And if you’ll excuse me for saying so … it was better all around.”

Absolute shame to lose this wonderment of anticipation to the ages. SO MUCH HERITAGE to be proud of and to celebrate.

Tiana’s tale could then propagate throughout New Orleans Square in the restaurants and shops and Dr. Facilier scavenger hunt interactive window displays and on a journey downriver on the Mark Twain reimagineered as a dark/light ride; all in the SAME UNIQUE SPIRIT that Louis Armstrong pioneered so eloquently and originally before her WITHOUT looting or burning down the big boxes of Disney’s legacy; a legacy that separates it from all other family entertainments that ALL FAMILIES connect with that are out there.

    2. Ken Brenner

I concur David. There was nothing wrong with the Jungle Cruise as it originally was. More Woke nonsense…

      1. Marie Wyke

Its nonsense as long as you aren’t the target…..

        1. Fixwhatsbroke

Marie, I appreciate your reasoned comments elsewhere, and I think I understand the angle you’re approaching it from in the case of Jungle Cruise, but I’d like to ask whom precisely do you see as being a “target”, there?

(I also fully realize this may not be the venue for continuing on the discussion in regards to the main articles subject, but just feeling a need to gently – hopefully – push back a bit more.)

  6. Walt vs. Disney

Aren’t there racial stereotypes in the Princess and the Frog?

And how horrible it is that Disney doesnt even have the respect to give Tiana her own ride. Just cover up an existing ride and slap some new paint, characters and songs on it? And in Frontierland? Are they going to chance that land’s name to match the new rethemed centerpiece?

They should probably just rename WDW and ditch the mouse. It’s only a matter of time.

  7. KevinY

Not sure about WDW but at Disneyland I’d expect the long closure to be from approximately late Fall 2023 until Spring 2024. They need to finish the new Toontown before they consider beginning the Splash transformation.

  8. Ken Brenner

    Concur Roger, well put!
I’m hoping that money outlay will stop this change that is not needed!

  9. Marie Wyke

Good, don’t ride it, makes for shorter lines…….. won’t hurt my feelings one bit. Good day.

  10. Princess Tiana deserves her own ride and restaurant by retheming Tom Sawyer Island better than retheming Splash Mountain in Frontierland at the Magic Kingdom
