The Walmart scene was funny and cute, but really took me out of the movie’s world. Also, I was excited to see Shandon and disappointed how short his time was. Still a great movie!
Except you’re wrong. At least in the homage to Ghostbusters II. Did you miss the whole scene where Ray is still working at “Ray’s Occult”? He was a university professor in 1, no references to his shop until 2. The toaster in the kitchen is the same one from Ghostbusters 2. The director has even gone on record saying that there are a bunch of Ghostbusters 2 references – but the only thing people remember from that movie is pink slime and Vigo the Carpathian, so they don’t notice them.
Haha I’m a “diehard fan” and I freaking loved Afterlife and smiled ear to ear even at the tongue in cheek fan service. I didn’t have a problem with any of the points made in this article. The author probably loved the 2016 reboot.
