Probably not a popular opinion, but I honestly don’t mind the trams not running if it also means less people in attendance. A minor inconvenience, that I DO NOT mind. I’ve been to both of the parks multiple times and we’ve either parked closer or sucked it up. Our mindset is “you’re walking the park all day, what’s another walk to the parking structure.” 🤷🏻‍♂️

It’s okay if you are not elderly and limited in waking. This is a very selfish response.

I’m with you on this. I have severe arthritis, and can do a full day at the park (with rest stops), but starting and ending the day with almost a mile walk doesn’t work for me.

Not having the trams is a huge hardship for me. I have a physical problem with my legs, not bad enough for a scooter or wheelchair, but enough that any extra walking aggravates the condition. I’m an AP and get free parking at WDW, but paid for preferred parking this week so I wouldn’t have to walk so far. What is WDW giving you for $25 per day? The least they could do is provide the trams.

Hope you never get old !!

A cast member friend told me that Disney doesn’t want to pay the price of natural gas to run the trams & that the electronics in many had been chewed on by mice while in storage.
The only suggestion I offer is to park in the Toy Story lot, & ride the electric bus to the front gate.

I’m 50/50 on this. On one hand I want them back, but on the other hand I don’t. I understand the walk is long and exhausting as I’ve been there plenty of times already :/ However, at the same time it’s also been pretty pleasant not having to stand and wait for the trams to arrive. I can’t imagine what that will look like if they bring them back. Maybe they can work something out for those who want it back and those who prefer walking??

There has always been a walking path you could take instead of the trams.

    2. George W Fitton

No one forces you on the trams ! You can always walk . Not sure how many times you have been there if you didn’t know walking has always been an option !

      1. Dhk

I’ve been there plenty of times and have taken the bridge to the parking structures. I don’t mind the walk, but Disney has every possible way of bringing the trams back. They just don’t want to. They’re too cheap to bring them back let’s just say it what it is. Chapek needs to go!

It’s long overdue to retrain the Disneyland Resort Tram Staff and get those Trams back in operation …. stop being a cheapskate, Bob Chapek (and don’t even think about charging a tram fee – Park Guests pay enough to park!)

Sure, the 🚝 ‘s are finally back in operation (it helps get you half way outside the Main Gate to the parking) …. you still have the 🚂 within Disneyland (which helps you get to most of the Lands) …. but you still don’t have something similar within DCA (it’s not as large in size compared to Disneyland) as the 🚎 doesn’t circle the Theme Park … there needs to be available a choice to be a pedestrian OR a passenger at all times.

Somehow under Chapek, I have a sinking feeling he’ll throw in a fee for the trams like he did with the fastpasses. I also blame the president of parks Josh D’Amaro too. Since he’s the one in charge of the parks, I feel like he’s had a role in these changes lately not just Chapek.

      1. Melanie Durham

Oh yes, I see that coming too….a few to ride the tram! Please don’t let him see this!

        1. Melanie Durham

A fee not fee! Stupid spellcheck

          1. Melanie Durham

            Oh brother! Duh

Another reason to fire Bob Cheapskate

I’m chiming in from Disney World in Florida. It is inexcusable that the trams are not back up and running over here in any of the parks as they have been reopened now for 15 months. Depending on the park it is a LONG way from the car to the park’s entrance and feels even longer at the end of a day walking back. Maybe a nice, juicy lawsuit from some poor person who keeled over from the hot Florida sun trying to get to their vehicle will spur Bob Cheapskate to get these trams running in both WDW and Disneyland again!

I visited Disneyland in September this year. I am 69 years old and have been going on a regular basis for over 40 years. Walking the distance to the parks from the parking structure has made it almost impossible for me to enjoy the parks. I also notice how difficult it is for young children to have walk all the way. They complain and there parents try to carry all there gear and hold their children’s hands to keep them safe
We are the bread and butter of the Disney Company! The very least they can do is get people from their high priced parking structure to the parks using the trams that are right there. Pay a decent wage and they will come!

  6. Barbara

It’s great for the people that enjoy the walk, good for you! Those of us with that cannot are being left out of the Disney Magic. Riding the team to and especially back from a
    long, long day was fantastic.
I have buyer’s remorse for purchasing the Magic Key Pass! I would never have believed that Disneyland would make the decision not to bring back the trams!

  7. Scott

It’s pretty obvious at this point that under current leadership, Disney has one, and only one core value: PROFIT. If you work for Disney in any leadership role, you can never do wrong by using PROFIT as the guiding factor in any decision that is made. This is more and more obvious in the parks everyday. The lack of trams is just more proof of that guiding corporate “Value”. Customer satisfaction is simply not a consideration.

  8. Robin

With the opening of the monorail, why doesn’t that get used to enter and leave the DL park, and utilize the Simba parking lot?

  9. Benjamin Collins

Does anyone know how many people are in attendance as they walk to the park entrence? To me if there is a small number of people would that factor into the use of the trams?

  10. Adolfo

Disney used to not be so greedy. Bring the trams back as an option. It is a long walk and some of us are too tired to make the long walk especially with shopping bags and grandkids in tow. Just raise the price of churros to pay for the gas, they’re sky high already . What’s another 50 cents?

  11. Dhk

If they don’t bring the Trams back, Chapek should step down as CEO. As well as the president of parks, D’Amaro.

  12. KMS

For those of us that need to rent a wheelchair or EVT once we get into the park due to various medical reasons, that walk can be almost impossible. It’s not like everyone can easily get a handicap tag. Does this qualify as a form of discrimination??

  13. EM

Wait until they figure out how much to charge to ride them

  14. Dale

Boycott all things Disney ! When you stop throwing money at Disney, they will listen and not before.

  15. Carolyn S Dougharty

Wish I’d known this before I purchased tickets……

  16. Norma Renteria

We were very surprised when we were ready to go and no Trans service. We were like what the heck. Disneyland charges for everything it should say no Trans service give us a warning. Should cut 1/2 price on parking cus if we get a far parking space then have to walk to entrance to Disneyland we tired and can’t enjoy the park

  17. Jana

I read one comment that said the electrical on the trams had been chewed by mice? Ok…. Hmmmm…..
Disney has enough money to pay for repairs AND, if they’re worried about social distancing on the tram, close every other row. That’s a long walk, for any one, at the end of the day with or without strollers, family, souvenirs, etc…
