It’s SUPPOSED TO BE ABANDONED!!! This completely ruins the whole feel of the Hollywood Tower Hotel and storyline! Yeah it might look cool, but it’s NOT RIGHT! Put it back into decay and disrepair! This is NOT THE TRUE TOWER OF TERROR!!!!
Period. WDW doesn’t get the Nightmare Before Christmas layover for Haunted Mansion because “the out of town guests won’t have the experience they’re expecting, it’ll ruin it!”.. How is this any different? Yeah it changes the queue more than the ride itself, but still. And in that case, the exterior and queue dont match the actual context of the ride and pre-show!
If this is temporary, it’s very cool. if it’s permanent i’m gonna throw a fit. the whole point is it’s an abandoned hotel ran by mysterious bellhops. only that this will be cool is if it’s the story of how the hotel came to be the way it is and if they eventually change it back.
So cool, like transported back to the night it happened like in the movie. They were to go to the party when it happened. Disney even has Melora Hardin from the movie now in Dancing with the Stars…very clever. Don’t watch the dance show anymore but hope they play up that movie and this nod in October episodes because Disney is Known for such touches for those who pay attention to the details. Nice for the special event and at least it is still Tower of Terror and not Guardians ride right guys!?

Just pretend you’re seeing the ghosts of the past, like they saw at the end of the movie, and you’ll be alright.

The Magic Kingdom firework and light show didn’t do much in the way of celebrating 50 years.

Seriously stupid. It’s supposed to be an ABANDONED hotel. That’s the whole premise of the ride!

Disney exec’s apparently don’t know the theme of the attractions they’re screwing up.

But what about all the old Twilight Zone-themed Easter eggs?
Like the elevator inspection certificate signed by a Mr. Cadwallader?
(Aka, the Devil, from the “Escape Clause” episode.) 😉
