  1. A tourist going to space, hmmmmm. The Disney Company was way ahead of Jeff Bezos and Richard Branson.

Yes, Space Mountain is a deceptively slow rollercoaster. No, I don’t really care. It has enough steep drops and sharp turns to keep my chiropractor busy. Space Mountain is great fun and one of my favourite Magic Kingdom rides.

I rode this at disney world enough in the late 70s to have the luxury of just looking around. I’m 77. After enough rides one could actually see the fans. Didn’t matter to me. I enjoyed the experience. I’m not a fan of the really “big” coaster rides. Zip

How is this shocking? There was never any hiding of the fact that it only goes 27 miles per hour.

Just because one person just found this out does not make it shocking or news!

And just because one person already knew about it or is not impressed with it does not mean it should never again be mentioned.

A novel bit of information (that is not advertised in blinking lights and/or discussed by normie Disney goers) was compiled and presented in an accessible way. Why does this make you angry? Everyone does not know all the same things, we aren’t the Borg.

As Gern said, “why is this shocking?” Not suggesting it’s a nice little fact but shocking it isn’t.. talk about being dramatic

Wow we finally found the person with low IQ this is site is designed for.

Its not news, its not a trick and they are still two different types of coaster with different aims.

Just because you are easily entertained doesn’t mean its not a pointless article. Its not even a first hand report

I don’t think this is a shocking fact. As far as I know Disney never said how fast or slow it went. I love the ride sure I knew there were fans for air flow so what ? It’s an indoor ride how did you expect the air to flow around. Disney was not trying to fool anyone. If you don’t like the ride don’t go on it. It’s as simple as that. I love all the rides at Disney. I have been going to WDW since 1978 & will continue for as long as I can. I may not be able to stay at the resorts anymore but I will still visit Disney whenever possible.

    1. Who said they don’t like the ride?

A johnny come lately discovers a “shocking secret” about Space Mountain. Whats next?

  7. Barb304

Doesn’t change my mind about the ride at all. I’ve known for years that it only reached 27mph but it feels much, much faster.

Not surprising or new information. Space mountain is a different configuration track. Featuring tight terms and sharp drops. Always makes it feel faster. My biggest issue with space mountain is it has become increasingly rough and noisy. 2 things you certainly wouldn’t see or feel in Space. Disneyland and Disney Paris both have much better track Systems. Smoother, Faster, Quieter. And certainly less damaging to your back. I’m hoping after they get done with tron they say they certainly consider a refurbishment of space mountain. That would include Also improving the graphics inside to actually make you feel like you’re flying through space. Like it was supposed to do

Well that explains a lot. I always thought The Barnstormer was quite fast for this kiddos.
