It seems that too many people haven’t learned how to behave properly in public places. Keep your hands to yourself, leave other people’s things alone and be kind. Is that too difficult to understand?
My sister and I got pictures with him some years back when they started his meet and greet. We had a great time and were polite. Wish people could be more respectful. He’s just trying to do his job.
Former cast member here: I’ve yet to meet a face character who hasn’t been harassed by guests. It’s pretty frickin sick. If you are groping Jack Sparrow or Tinkerbell or Gaston or Ariel… just what exactly is wrong with you? I guarantee you, they have absolutely no interest in you. Nor your money if you’re one of those jerks who thinks they can buy a body. If they cared about money, they wouldn’t be working as a Disney character. They are there for the children.
We met Jack Sparrow a few years back. My grandsons (who were 6 & 7) were so excited to meet him & Jack Sparrow was great with them. Meeting him was a highlight of our vacation!
One time at D-land my friend and I got our photo with Captain Jack. He had his arm over my shoulder and was a bit close, but also a perfect gentleman.
To all of those who harass characters……. what in the whole of h— is wrong with you, you sick perverts? Maybe socially distanced meet-and-greets should be permanent.
Women were sexually assulting men? You dont say… the way society tries to present it, only women experience unwanted sexual advancements. Youd better not share this story too much. You may end up getting canceled because it doesnt agree with woke truth
Very few (if any) of the people trying to raise awareness of sexual assault against women are saying it never happens to men. They are only saying that women are disproportionately affected (according to one source on RAINN’s statistics page, 82% of minor and 90% of adult victims of sexual assault are girls/women). Funny how you’re actually the only one in the comments making this about gender instead of simply agreeing that groping *anybody* is wrong? Man or woman, everyone should be entitled to their own body boundaries.
My first visit to Disney World this past June (at age 58, mind you) was made more fun by seeing Captain Jack at a socially safe distance. My husband, who loves to embarrass me, had Captain Jack address me out loud….as I was hurrying away. He yelled my name and said, “don’t leave me!!!” It was embarrassing, yet fun for an older middle aged woman. 😉😍
I am hear to say that character harassment is not just a Disney World issue. At 14, I played Cinderella, Alice, and other characters in a small theme park in New England. I literally spent every day trying to position myself so men wouldn’t be glimpsing down my dress, grabbing my ass or whispering in my ear while I talked to their children. It was quite an education for a newly minted adolescent, that’s for sure.
It is a terrible shame how some guests behave towards these people in character.
I know my son, who played the character of Tarzan at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, he would tell me that he loves being the character and seeing all the smiles it would bring on children’s faces, but he hated when women would constantly try and feel him up by trying to stick their hand up his loin cloth.
He would tell me, “I guess they were trying to feel if I had any underwear under the loin cloth.”
He would be thinking, “Really? There are children here. Come on now!”
So, I personally know that this is a hazard I’m sure many of the characters have to deal with on a daily basis.

I bet he was glad when they instituted social distancing. The guys might need a cast member or two nearby like the princesses.
