I can’t wait to use this when we go in December! Maybe the bugs will be worked out by then (because we all know the bugs are coming.)

    I have no interest whatsoever.

Will it suck up a lot of battery power on your phone? The last app drained the phone before noon and there were almost no plug-ins anywhere. You had to buy a self-contained battery just to get a fast pass.

I don’t like the idea that I have to be attached to my phone. I don’t think batteries will survive all day. Had bad connections there in the past. Sorry, not a good idea.

What could be worse than dependence on battery life while walking around the parks with your nose pressed against a small screen you are trying to read in the glare of the sun? Perhaps juggling your phone, a float, a spoon and several napkins, while trying to evade others who are looking at nothing but their phones.

Absolutely agree, people already experience their vacation through the screen on their phone. There are enough videos on YouTube already, enjoy your trip in real-time. I have been run over by people too busy filming themselves while walking through the crowds. I’m glad the selfie sticks were finally banned because more than once I have been hit and poked by one. I use my phone as my camera, but try to make it a point to not be on it while on vacation.

“Disney Genie Will Be Your Personal Navigation System at Disney Parks” No it won’t! I don’t need anybody or anything telling me where to go in Disney Parks. Been there many times.

The free Genie app sounds wonderful only for the informational side of it. As far as planning my day out it will be a great help even though I’ve been there many times. Nice to know the wait times on the fly. Paying extra for rides, not so sure about that. It will depend on how badly I want to go on a certain ride.

I don’t need to know the wait time from the phone. For one thing, they are never accurate. It’s better to go look at the ride lines and judge for myself.

Why can’t I just get up and go to the parks? Or can I?

Genie not going to plan my day. Just the rides as required. I will go to frozen sing along at 1:00. Don,t need genie to tell me that. Not eating at any restaurants this visit due to paying for genie so nothing booked there. eat ice cream, popcorn, junk for food trucks. eat back at hotel. Gonna miss Germany. I love it. Oh well all good things must always end.

I hate to judge before I’ve tried Genie, but according to the this article, Genie does absolutely nothing the current Disney app does such as which park will I visit: get a reservation from the current app, what’s the wait time for rides: it’s on the app, how do I get there from here: oh look that’s on the current app too! Do you know what is not on the app? The pay to play only on Genie! That’s right the FREE Fast Pass is no longer on the app. The ONE THING the writer did not say is that the ONLY difference (according to this article) between these two apps is that the Genie app is the only way to PAY to avoid those long wait times to ride. It’s simply a payment system. Like we don’t already pay enough!
