Disney Fans Debate Over Which Arm to Wear MagicBand On - Inside the Magic

MagicBands are an essential part of a Walt Disney World vacation for many. The wristband, which comes in a variety of colors and designs, is basically your key to the world as it acts as your Park ticket, room key, credit card, and more.

In case you aren’t familiar, MagicBands are described by Walt Disney World as:

This colorful wristband is actually an all-in-one device that effortlessly connects you to all the vacation choices you made with My Disney Experience. Your MagicBand enables you to travel lighter throughout your vacation. Use it to enter the parks, unlock your Disney Resort hotel room and buy food and merchandise.

MagicBands can be worn on either arm, depending on your personal preference, but one Reddit user started a thread on the social media platform, which has caused quite the debate.

The post started with Reddit user mondomotions1138 asking:

Which arm do you guys wear your magic bands on?

Just a little curious. Going to the parks for the next 5 days and I just picked up one in Disney Springs today and linked it.

To which another user, Ihaveatonofopinions, replied:

I wear mine on my left, because I find that the finger scans are easiest to do with my right index finger. That way, I can place them both at the same time and be as quick as possible on the turnstiles.

yeezushchristmas also prefers the left arm, writing:

Left. Just like a watch.

However, KYlibrarian said they actually prefer the right arm:

I wear mine on my right because I wear my watch on my left.

And user acathcartm also said they prefer the right arm, but they plan to use a puck holder for their Apple Watch for the next time they go to Disney World:

Right arm unless i am wearing my watch. Just got an apple watch so plan on getting a puck holder

And this is something that mcdanos echoed:

I actually detach my puck and have a little attachment that slides onto my Apple Watch band!

Again, it really does not matter which arm you wear the MagicBand on and really boils down to personal preference, but it is interesting to see the different options everyone has when utilizing their MagicBand.

Keep in mind that Disney is no longer sending complimentary MagicBands to Guests. If you are not aware, in years past, when Guests booked a trip to Walt Disney World Resort, if they were staying on property, Disney would send them a complimentary MagicBand to use throughout their vacation. However, at the start of 2021, Walt Disney World Resort officially discontinued complimentary MagicBands for Disney Resort hotel Guests.

If you are visiting Walt Disney World Resort in the near future, you can use a Key To The World card (provided at the Front Desk) for Disney Resort hotel room entry, theme park entry, and charging purchases to your hotel room with a valid credit card. Additionally, Guests can opt to use a MagicBand from a past visit or may purchase a MagicBand before they arrive at Walt Disney World.

Though Disney World discontinued free MagicBands, they are still offering a wide variety of designs and colors.
