Animators seem to HATE Mickey, for Disney almost never showing us all but two or three of his cartoons growing up in the 70’s-80’s, and “Runaway Brain” was hipster Mickey-deconstruction a whole generation before the Ugly Mickey cable years.
At least “The Prince & the Pauper” managed to be a little respectful, and tried to reboot the brand.

The other dark Mickey Mouse cartoon that Disney does not promote is “The Mad Doctor,” released in 1933.
