Disney World’s TTC parking area, and the big monorail/ferry trip across the lake, is basically a relic of their 70’s 1-park days.
Unlike Disneyland’s big local business, WDW is based on more of an isolated resort market, with its own transportation, guests who would rather arrive at the hotels (or off-property hotels) by tour bus than deal with rental Florida traffic, and drive-ins seem to be mostly for the regional AP locals.

I can remember in the early 90’s, when there were only three bus routes, PERIOD, back before the All-Star resorts, and taking one from the TTC to the Studios meant taking a long detour through Fort Wilderness.

That overhead parking lot photo is Hollywood Studios. I would dare to say, Magic Kingdom parking lot is Not empty!

  2. They are just coming up to 35% capacity, and not all of the resort guests park at the TTC.

Did Animal Kingdom yesterday. Low wait times, Tusker House barely full. Crowds didn’t seem bad but was our first time there in 15 years.

    1. Attendance is normally low on Sunday morning in the parks. Currently, you are in the off season. Off season is usually when kids are in school.

I was at Disney World yesterday. It was packed and the parking lot was full. Had to wait 30 minutes to get through the area where you pay for parking.

Been at WDW a week. We’re a group of 11 to 15 roaming the parks. Most of us are repeat guests, so 2 to 7 trips a year for 3 to 15 years, depending on who’s in the group on each day. We’ve been talking about why with the low capacity it can still feel so busy and crowded at times. The best we can come up with is that there are some things Disney hasn’t brought back yet that historical soak up the people at times. No parades. Very, very few/ no live shows. No character meet and greats…All of these have their own way of keeping guests busy. So yes, less guests. But less employees to keep them busy.
Disney has spent a lot of time and money studying how to move guests around and keep them busy. But this is not normal park behavior for guests or Disney.

We were at Epcot yesterday. The World Showcase had the majority of the crowd. We found low wait times in many of our favorites. We visited Disney Hollywood last Friday and found the same. When will Disney bring back the parking lot trams?

      RE: Parking Trams
They are outdoor vehicles, it makes NO sense to not have them running again, none…

Could it be that people are finally sick and tired of the constant Parking fee prices. Bad enough paying to park then the resorts now charge the same. Are Pay toilets on the horizon?????

Disney friends: opinion regarding MK park capacity and wait times. Visiting the week of 11/7.

I’m going that same week and everyone keeps telling me it should be a very low crowd week at DW. I really hope they’re all right!

We just spent from 9/30-10/6 at WDW. Thursday at HS had very light traffic. On Friday at Epcot wait times were light and we were able to get an early slot for Ratatouille. The afternoon the traffic picked up in the world showcase. Saturday at MK wasn’t too terrible either. The new fireworks show was packed but our family found it disappointing. Animal Kingdom wasn’t heavy on Sunday.. no long wait times. Things changed on Monday back at Hollywood Studios… extremely crowed. We uber everywhere so that may account for many empty parking lots.. since the trams aren’t running. We went to the Boo Bash on Tuesday night and the lack of food in the park was disappointing. For the price too many shops on Main Street were closed. That was sad for us.
