Are they even caring about Splash Mountain anymore? How many times has it broken down since the park reopened? Or do they figure “sooner or later this ride will be changed to something else, so why bother”?
Disney closes rides periodically because they do not have enough cast members to run them all. They have to close down 1 or 2 rides so cast can have a lunch or a break. The rides do not malfunction. Management is the malfunction.
So, you’re saying it was a normal day. You’re coming off as a crybaby for writing an article about something that happens ALL THE TIME because that’s just how things go. It’s been that way since the parks opened. If you haven’t noticed, you either haven’t been paying attention, or you’ve just been lucky up to this point. Machinery breaks down ALL THE TIME (every attraction is basically industrial machinery with a happy face painted on it). And then Disney gets it back up and running because they are good at what they do, and don’t just say “it’s broke” and leave it alone. This is a normal thing, and you whining about it doesn’t make it a big deal.

As much as they charge you’d think they could keep the rides going. Probably skimping on maintenance and pocketing the savings.
