Sorry, Disney is way to expensive for the average person now. Just a 2 hour drive away for me and I haven’t gone in years. Would luv to take the kids but just cannot afford it, and then add the lines and you spend a lot of money to stand and be herded like cattle.
I read that there was a wave of cancelations bringing the forecasted 90% + attendance (that Chapek promised us shareholders) to a roughly 60%+ attendance. October is still showing open reservations for all 4 parks. Chapek has outpriced most fans and DeSantis has scared off the rest with the unmanaged covid surge
In the reddit post itself multiple people point out that Epcot is usually a later-day park, as people prioritize Magic or Hollywood before park hopping hours after 2 pm. Since the photos are from 11-Noon, and from the middle of the week it appears empty. It’s not the weekend when of course it’ll be packed! I was there yesterday afternoon and Food&Wine definitely is still drawing crowds.
We just went last night for the PH Ratatouille preview, and it was packed. Not shoulder to shoulder, but there were plenty of people everywhere in the park
We were there three weeks ago and it was crowded. In the evening, it was hard to walk around, especially near the food and drink stands. Who know when these photos were taken; perhaps before hours or soon after the gate was opened?
It wasn’t deserted last night, despite the storms! We were there from around 6pm-close, hoping the rain would drive everyone away. Nope. Long lines at the booths but thankfully, they moved quickly. We did not try for any rides because we were there for F&W.
Went in July and it was horrendously packed with long wait times and no fast passes. “Rope dropped” Animal Kingdom and ran to Avatar Flight of Passage – as did everyone else.- still had to wait 90 minutes. Long lines everywhere. There was no capacity limit in play – 35 percent was months and months ago w no update from Disney. Lack of fast passes made less enjoyable trip. Don’t let these pictures fool you at all. We are DVC members and go very frequently – worst trip ever. Trying again in January
We are going in October, hoping not to have to wear mask at all. Maybe alot of people do want to spend that kind of money just to have to be on a vacation and wear mask. I wish they would drop the mask mandate. People should realize that they are going to well Disney world and there are going to be crowds. If you’re worried about catching something don’t go. I think the numbers are low due to that fact. I could be wrong though. This will be your 1st time there. And hope it’s as magical as everybody says.
Was there last week, 8/30 – 9/3 and crowds were the lightest I’ve ever seen. (I only go every few years though) I think it’s mainly because most schools are back in session. Most kids seemed less than school age. Here in MA schools typically don’t start before labor day, which makes this a good time to take the family. Half of the rides had no wait at all at all. Waits for popular rides hit 45 minutes for brief periods at the end of the week but were generally less than 30. It was easy to hit all major attractions in a few hours at each park. Epcot World Showcase definitely got more crowded in the evenings as people came for the food, but booth lines were never more than a few people. Except for France’s booth which was always long for some reason. They only had one cashier inside the booth which I think was slowing things down.
That’s because this site is a Pro Disney propaganda site. They want to make them look good so they get invited to all those “exclusive” social media/influencer events
Well it’s been 90+ degrees the last week or so and these pictures are obviously earlier in the day.
World showcase doesn’t typically get busier until much later in the day.
Visited Epcot August 12 2021. Quite disappointed. Too many Food and Wine Kiosks closed. Not empty but not full. Needs a great amount of money to upgrade Epcot. Will be a long time before returning.
The article says the photos are an hour after the park opens. The park opens at 9, the World Showcase at 11.
In any event, I was there the Friday of Labor Day weekend, and it was a good sized crowd the entire day.
Not super crowded with long lines for food/drink like previous years, but crowded enough.
I was there from August 27th to September 3rd and it was crowded, even in the pouring rain. People are all back to school and don’t forget— everyone wants to be there for the 50th on October 1st. I couldn’t get a reservation!

Yes Covid is so deadly, maybe by the 50th variant they will have it figured out.

Remember, when they talk of crowds, percent of capacity is different than “really crowded”. Really crowded is 75 to 80% of capacity!

I’ve been there on a Tuesday night and a Saturday. Both days there were plenty of people there. Didn’t look like your picture at all.
