Imagine: you are visiting Walt Disney World Resort and purchase four Park tickets so that you can visit Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
You then want to add Park Hoppers to each pass and notice that the cost just increased dramatically. Then, you think about your next visit, which you have planned for six months later, and realize you will have to pay all of that again.

Depending on how often you visit Walt Disney World, Park tickets could cost you thousands! But did you know there is a way to upgrade your Park tickets to an Annual Pass? By doing this, not only will you give yourself several visits (or even unlimited visits, if you select the Incredi-Pass with no blockout dates) Disney World visits for a year, but also you can put the cost of your theme park tickets toward the cost of the Annual Pass.

With Disney announcing their new Annual Pass system, which will begin being sold on September 8, some Guests visiting for the 50th anniversary may want to experience more of Disney World more often, and now that they can, they are not sure what to do with the Park tickets they pre-purchased for their upcoming vacations since Annual Passes were not yet being sold.

Now Disney World is renaming the Passes in their Annual Pass system to have the Disney Pixie Dust Pass, Disney Pirate Pass, Disney Sorcerer Pass, and Disney Incredi-Pass. And depending on whether you are a Florida resident, a Disney Vacation Club member, or someone who lives outside of Florida, you may only be able to purchase certain pass types.

In order to upgrade, your theme park tickets must be unexpired. You can upgrade unused and unexpired tickets, or you can upgrade partially used tickets while you are on your Disney World vacation.
If you have a multi-day ticket for an upcoming vacation, you can upgrade your tickets to an Annual Pass before the end of the last day your ticket is eligible.
If you are visiting on September 8 or after and want to upgrade your tickets, you can do so either in person or over the phone! If you are looking to do this in person, you will need to visit a theme park ticket window or at the Disney Ticket Center at Disney Springs.
You can also upgrade your pass over the phone by calling 407-934-7639.
Currently, the Walt Disney World Annual Pass upgrade FAQ site seems to be down, so there may be more specific changes coming.

That being said, at the moment, the instructions we provided above are how Disney Guests can upgrade their Park tickets to an Annual Pass once September 8 rolls around. Please note that Park tickets purchased before September 8 will not be eligible as the Annual Pass must return for upgrades to be made possible.
