Yeah, the timestamp is 8:58am. The park they photographed is Islands of Adventure which doesn’t open until 9am. I’m here at Universal. It’s still crowded during the day and velocicoaster gets up to 90 mins if you don’t get there first thing.
I liked Universal CA better, we only spent half a day at Orlando. We dont plan to come back. I was looking forward to the Harry Potter area, it is nothing but a bunch of very dark tunels and stores. Pwehy.
gr unvaccinated people are making peole sick???? That’s a good one. What about the vaccine that all you believes got. Wasn’t that supposed to help. Stay out of Florida then we don’t need you down here. Wear your 3 mask and get your 3rd shot and then maybe you will be happy.
Unless people are using N95 or KN95 masks, which most people are not, they don’t work against viruses! Try reading the packaging on the next box of masks you buy; it says right on there that they are NOT medical grade masks and do NOT protect against viruses (they have to put that on the packaging so you can’t sue them when you get the virus anyway).
Having ER rooms with waits of half a day for life threatening situations is a bit daunting. I don’t worry half as much about getting the virus since I’m vaxxed, but accidents happen.
Funny, my family and I have been down in the Orlando area for a month now looking at homes. Had to visit ER at two different hospitals three times due to a condition I have where I have to get it checked out each week at a ER until I get a primary care doctor here. Most I have seen in one ER was maybe 10 people and that was once. The other two times maybe 5 to 6 people. Not overcrowded and was able to be seen within 15 minutes on each trip. Do not believe all the MSM hype. Not saying the virus is not real. Just saying it is being hyped up a little more than what is really going on here.
That’s not even true, they bug you to wear masks in all the indoor areas.
…Which is very freaking annoying by the way. As someone else said, masks are ridiculous. I went a couple weeks ago but I’m not coming back till that asinine policy is gone. I’m sure some of the lemmings will rag on me for it. Put your dumb mask on and shut up, then
Louis are you Kidding me. Have you wore a masks in 90 plus outside and 90 plus humidity. Get real make don’t do anything. But if that’s what you believe then good for you. Please then stay out of Florida we don’t need you done here
From what I hear disney is so strict now due to the plandemic that no one wants to go there anymore. I wanted to book a trip for my 9yr old but im all set cause ive heard most of the attractions are closed anyway and you have to wear a freakin mask outside. So if covid was so deadly why arent they doing lockdowns and why is the border still open. Psaki said on national television that those crossing over are exempt as well as congress. So. You can take this plandemic and shove it where the sun don’t shine. We arent sheep!!!
I’m from Scotland and would normally be there at this time (actually due to be there right now!) the reason we go at this time of year is due to the low crowd levels!
It could be a direct correlation to inflation fears too. With the prices of basic essentials going up, people may not be seeing the extra bank in the account. Plus with the future tax hikes looming, people with families may be saying I’d rather save my money now.
What you all are saying is contributing to the low numbers, but the main reason is that everyone decided to go months before this. I was at Universal Islands of Adventure with my daughter nearly 2 months ago and noticed that the majority of car license plates on care were from out of state. I mean you would see people from Utah, New York, Maine, Oregon all over the place. The place was over packed to the point there was a nearly a 2 hour wait just to get into the park. The fact is we all went crazy when things loosened up early and now things have changed. Kids going back to school has a lot to do with it too. I wish we would have gone now!!!
As someone who was in the parks & city walk SEVERAL times today, i’m going to tell all of you that this is a LIE. the park was still packed, line times close to an hour.
As someone who works a couple minutes from Universal and goes to the parks at least weekly, it is relatively crowded considering it’s monsoon season. The wait times are low only after the afternoon flooding drives the crowds away. And Halloween Horror Nights was packed yesterday, even with fairly continuous light rain the whole day and night.
Seems doubtful. I went yesterday and it was ridiculously packed. The parking attendant told us it was so busy we might as well go home. We had to park on the roof since we didn’t get there until about 10 or 10:30. We were barely able to get a lunch reservation and we were packed in like sardines everywhere.
My party and I have already spend thousands on accomodations and tickets for mid October. Precisely because masks are optional. If they were forced, like Disney, they wouldn’t see a cent from us.
If your mask works, wear it. We don’t need to to partake in your act of misery.
When I went back in the beginning of august it was crazy packed since they don’t require a reservation like Disney so it’s the go to for people who get turned away from Disney at the gate. 130 dollars per person and the wait times for lines were over 60 minutes for everything, we didn’t even walk through Harry Potter town since that area was the most crowded of all, not even 2 feet of space between people.
We just left Universal and the park looks the same as it has over the last 5 years as pass holders. There are still 60 min waits and the restaurants are packed along with the hotel where we spent the weekend. Mask don’t seems to bother anyone (because maybe 3% of customers are wearing them).
Its not because of covid, its because…who the he** can afford it? I sure cant. We.re struggling to get bills payed and put food on the table. Thats priority!
Was just there (for the first time) Sep. 10th – 14th. It was crowded the days I was there. When I was leaving on the 14th, it did seem like a lot of people were leaving that day too. It was pretty quiet around Cabana Bay that day, which was the exact opposite of even the day before.
This is total bs. Parking is overflowing , tickets are sold out for the Halloween Horror nights until oct 31. Lines to get in the houses average 60 min
I find it baffling that a lot of people can’t seem to figure why crowds are lower than normal.
1. Kids are back at school.
2. Some people are worried about crowded places and Covid.
3. Some people are worried about money and the parks are expensive.
4. This is the one many of you seem to be forgetting… You’re missing a good 25% of visitors due to international travel restrictions. Probably more given this would ordinarily be a very popular time for them.
You’ll see big surges soon for Halloween, the 50th at Disney and of course Christmas.
Also travel restrictions look like they might be starting to relax, so enjoy it while lasts.
Kids are back in school. People are staying in their own states right now because of Covid-19. I’m vaccinated my body my choice my husband is not His body his choice. And he has the antibodies so does my son. You tell me I have to ware a mask I’m not going in. If I don’t feel well I don’t go out. If I do I ware a mask
I live here an was just there and it was packed. These photos must be before they open in the morning. They are busy everyday. They are still selling out of tickets daily.
International flights are majorly disrupted so less overseas visitors and if USA schools are open then less from USA as well so would make sense less crowds.
Maybe people are tired of the ridiculous plandemic rules….diminished experience at twice the price. People are voting with their wallets and I hope that it hits both Universal and Disney HARD!!!
we were literally at the park this day, it was very much crowded! most rides were over 35 min (i know this because my autistic son had to get a pass signed for return times to several rides)…. and currently without a mask universal is WAYYY better then disney world. taking my autistic son with sensory issues to disney was the worlds largest disappointment. having him be comfortable is wayyy more important then seeing the disney castle while melting our butts off.
The world has been in lockdown??!!!???? We’re not able to travel to the US or I’d be there now on vacation! I’m assuming it’s the same for the rest of the world
My wife and I will be going to Universal September 22nd and I will have my father-in-law who is 81 with us.
I am glad the crowds are less and I will be careful.
My son and I were there last year in July & August 2020 in the middle of the “pandemic” and the parks were crowded…the parks here in California are Paaaacked too. People are not as afraid as the government wants us to be and for that I am thankful
We won’t go back to any of the parks until they completely get rid of masks. We’re vaccinated, so lets get on with life and getting back to normal. Enough.
My wife and I have booked annual trips (from California) to WDW, Orlando ant to Universal Orlando every November (except for 2020, when the pandemic was raging) since 2017. The fact that neither park/resort requires proof of vaccination or negative test renders it impossible for my family to risk a trip to either at this time, as much as we would love to go. However, L.A. County has now mandated that Universal Hollywood must require proof of vaccination beginning on October 7th, so we will be planning a trip down to Southern California to Universal Hollywood.
What are you talking about ? We were literally there this past week and the new coaster wait was an hour. Some of the haunts were 1-2 hour wait, and this was on a Thursday.
This article is so far from the truth it’s hilarious how people actually sit in front of their computer and write this I just left universal and Islands of adventure I was there for four days and i had to wait 60 minutes to ride the new Jurassic coaster I have to wait 60 minutes to Ride hagrid’s motorbike the park was pretty damn full to me I couldn’t walk on any ride without waiting lmao I’m so confused by this article I’m trying to figure out what they’re trying to get out of writing this!?!?
I just spent the last 2 days there and I can tell you it’s not dead. Granted I know the parks get much busier but most rides had some sort of wait and Hagrids was pulling 35-60 min waits my whole trip
This article is a lie. Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure is packed and Halloween Horror Nights is sold out every night from now until Halloween.
This article is a complete lie. I went Saturday and the park was filled, sometimes shoulder to shoulder in line. The crowd was mixed regarding wearing masks 50/50, but the park had signs and audio recordings playing to encourage wearing a mask and to give distance to other groups of tourists. There were hand sanitizer pumps everywhere.
Comments for Universal Turns Into a Ghost Town as Crowds Continue to Disappear
Louis F Mariano Jr
The reason probably is that they don’t enforce a mask policy inside or outside. People don’t want to get sick. Get your act together Universal!!!
Not a sheep
NOT the reason.
SKTo
The crowds are awaiting horror nights you dopes. They aren’t disappearing. The picture is from park closure time before open.

Yeah, the timestamp is 8:58am. The park they photographed is Islands of Adventure which doesn’t open until 9am. I’m here at Universal. It’s still crowded during the day and velocicoaster gets up to 90 mins if you don’t get there first thing.

There was 30,000 people between both parks yesterday

Lack of no masking and kids in school are your answers
Gem
Nope, kids in school yes. Because of Covid-19 people are staying home . Mask no mask does not play into it.
Chelle's D
The reason is simple – no European flights, especially from the UK.
Maggie
Because of covid, health before making you wealth
Donald Boell
Silly response. Masks are worthless and only fit for sheep.
gR
Well this sheep doesn’t want to get sick from the unvacxed. No masking, no visit. Money talks and BS walks.
Not a sheep
You can still catch it from the “vaxxed”, Einstein.
Not a sheep
Does not reduce the risk of spread. That’s why they want the “vaxxed” masked.
Sue

You’re an idiot. Just say that next time to save us some reading.

Absolutely!

Yes,your the first person that gets it!!!
Dana Dodson
Even before pandemic, this time of year is slow in Orlando. As you know Europeans aren’t allowed in U.S.
Rob
Exactly!
Maryl A Rusch
That’s what I was going to say. September is usually a slower month at the parks.

Stop being so dramatic. I just saw a YouTube from last week that showed plenty of people there. Read your stats about covid. Don’t be naive

This is false! The crowds are the high and it Is busy… Please fact check your stories and stick to Disney.
