You’ve got that right. I used to go to WDW every year and there were even a couple of times when I went twice in one year. Sorry to say, those days are gone! I believe Disney must be the greediest of all the greedy businesses in this country!
I’m a DVC member and likely going to sell some of my timeshares. Just not going to spend the $ at Disney multiple trips a year and get so little in return than before. Likely will be going to Universal more.
Walt will be turning in his grave, this is just money grabbing. There was nothing wrong with the old system, Disney has “lost the magic” in my opinion.
Money grab. Plain and simple. Love how Disney tries to spin it though. More $$ for way less perks these days. Very sad to see Disney declining and becoming just another regular theme park.
I’m looking forward to Genie+. Our normal cost for a 10 day ticket for the family of 4 is $3000. Genie+ and LL will add another $2000 or more, effectively a huge ticket price increase. Genie+ itself will add $600 total. I haven’t figured out if our family will pay or not, but I want see who all pay for this. I know one thing: during slow times, like right now, there’s no need to pay for most fastpasses. So, we might just go only during slow times to avoid paying and beat Disney at their own game. I’m still thinking about it.
it is so wrong not only to have a paid fastpass system but to have it on the phone is even more wrong. I hate the phone. Greedy man chapek sucks rocks.
Absolutely despicable, I’d much rather spend my hard earned money on domestic holidays in the UK now, certainly better value for money.. which is a shame as I loved our Disney trips
Will be recommending to everyone I know to steer clear and make a point that this is too much!
They should follow Xbox, when they said no backwards compatibility there was uproar followed quickly by an apology and an answer of ‘we hear you and as fans/customers you are valued, we were wrong’.
This is insane! We loved the old fast pass system with the ability to book in advance for free! Sadly we won’t be having yearly trips to Disney anymore which we all loved so much! Disney should really reconsider what this will be doing to their regular customers! First time visitors would probably pay the extra money to experience Disney but regular customers will definitely think twice and take their money elsewhere.
I’m a DVC member with 3 daughters and 8 grandchildren. No way can we afford to treat our family to Disney trips as we have done in the past. Disney is pricing itself way out of the market I think. Very sad for this Disney fan.
Comments for Launch of Disney World’s Paid FastPass System Is Around the Corner

This is the new Disney normal. I just hope that they don’t make any more major price increases in the next few months after introducing the system.
Barb
The price increases will ever stop as people just accept them and move on. Maybe it’s time to boycott! LOL!
Barb
Oops that should say ‘never’ stop!
Dave
Walt would be very disappointed in this new system. It’s getting to the point where the average family can no longer afford a trip to Disney.

I’m very upset about these additional charges. Soon only the very rich will be able to experience the Dusney magic.

So Disney is saying if you have more money you don’t have to wait in line with those on a tight budget

IMO what they’re doing is ‘testing the waters’ to see just how high the prices can go before people finally say NO MORE!
