we rode it about a week ago, just wasn’t the same as a lot of the music is missing.. My fiancee and I believe it is due to Universal owning the rights to Aerosmith’s music..I imagine there will be a rebranding in the works
Universal Music is not owned by NBC Comcast like Universal Studios Parks and Movies are. This does not effect it. Plus even if it did they have a contract already much like Universal has with Marvel and the Simpsons (Disney properties) where it does not go away like that.
I really hope this doesn’t mean the end of this ride. I was planning a trip for my husband and I, that we have been wanting to take for a long time now, but is still a couple of years away. The time frame I was choosing would put that ride at it’s 25th year. It would have been awesome to ride it but if Walt Disney keeps getting rid of rides then whya would be the point in ever going there. It sucks that just because some people feel Aerosmith is no longer a band that tours a lot that the ride needs to go away. I really hope they are just doing minor repairs or a paint job.
“but if Walt Disney keeps getting rid of rides then whya would be the point in ever going there.”
Thats fine. Most of keep going for the experience of sharing the park with friends and family. Doesn’t matter what rides are there. And I love that they keep changing the rides. I have never felt that what brings me back was specific rides. I would rather have new Disney experiences rather simply redo old ones.
Well my only comment is, but it would be terribly bad timing due to the fact that Aerosmith is getting ready to celebrate their 50th year! Think Disney, Think. I am one one in Millions of Aerosmith’s fans. I’d do it.
This ride itself is fine,, so I doubt the coaster is going anywhere.
I’m pretty sure Disney is going to re-brand the ride to either a new group/band that is a little bit more relevant to now (and not 40 years ago), or to a movie IP that Disney owns. Either way, Aerosmith is a bit too dated, and should’ve been on their way out a decade ago.
I also hope Disney takes this opportunity to put the new Vekoma vest restraint trains on the track, for a WAY BETTER ride experience.
When the news comes out, you all will understand. Disney, you better clean up your messes. Walt would be ashamed of what “Disney” has done and become. Get back to Walt’s original dream–Affordable Family Fun!
If you ask me its cheap compared to what I get in return. I gladly pay twice as much for the Disney experience. The time I spend there with my family is priceless.
And Walt wanted a place where parents and kids could have fun together. And if you ask me, Disney continues to live up to that promise. I suspect he wouldn’t be as ashamed as you think he would.
Iron Man Jukebox is an upcoming steel roller coaster attraction opening at Walt Disney Studios Park’s future Avengers Campus in Early 2022. It will replace Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, replacing it with an entirely new story.

For real? THAT would be an awesome story. Give us facts not speculations.
While I love Aerosmith, a change up world be fun. The ride is a blast and ive always loved the soundtracks
This has been reported elsewhere. The contract with Disney and the company that licenses Aerosmith’s name and music has expired. They were unable to renew since universal now hold the rights. Look for a generic rock n roll rebranding

I wonder if this could have anything to do with Universal getting Aerosmith’s music. Could a reimagining be in the works?

Rumor has it that the roller coaster was sold to Universal Studios. Any truth to it?

I think disney is getting it ready for the 50th anniversary. I hope disney don’t get rid of Rockin roller coaster. I love that ride, it is so awesome.

Was inside the shop when my family was going through last wee, not much Aerosmith playing, but a lotta Queen!

Maybe the ride will be rebranded to something related to the band Queen???

Universal owns the rights to the Aerosmith music/theming .. guess who didn’t renew the contract? Disney’s new CEO 🤯
Jim
I can’t stand Queen and I never could. Aerosmith, I can take or leave.

Actually, I believe it’s becoming an Iron Man coaster. 🙂

After what I’ve seen dinner to the Arc de Triumphe in Paris… I wonder if this is another work of Christo!?!

Coming soon! A “new” ride experience even worse than the last one. It’s the “Disney Way” in the 21st century!

I’m not agreeing or disagreeing with all this but I can promise you with the new CEO in place it will just create chaos at Disney.
Jeff
I’m not going to lie I was here yesterday and the guitar was not covered up so I don’t know what you guys are smoking.
