I have been a long time Disney fan. I do not like the mural. Mickey’s face is just not good. Let’s make changes for the better!
I’m still upset that the newer movie Mulan was made in China miles from a concentration camp! Couldn’t Disney find some place better than that!? Maybe a location in the USA.
I grew up with the Mickey from the 50s from the Mickey Mouse Club. Now it looks like the want to introduce a new Mickey. Of course I don’t like it. I showed him to my six year old grandson and he liked the new Mickey.
Gone is the beautiful, friendly face of Mickey. Instead we receive an unnatural, bad plastic surgeon job reminiscent of someone who has been indulging in too many drugs. PLEASE bring back Happy Mickey!
I like the idea of the mural and it looks good except Mickey’s face is totally off. It’s great to innovate and move forward with the new but I feel we need to stay true to the fact that this was all started by a mouse and to change that mouse is just wrong.
The Mickey Mouse face is in line with the art style they are going for. You can tell it’s Mickey so it is clearly not as butchered as you all say. Stop citing your tastes as criticism when it’s just complaining and whining. Criticism is saying what is wrong with something and how to improve it, not “I don’t like it.” I’m sure the mural is going to blend in with the design of the rest of the store once finished, if not then there is right to complain, but for now it’s one detail under a microscope and not the full picture of the store. If this small art piece in a store you probably won’t visit is enough then fine, don’t give the giant company your money and don’t buy a ticket, it’s that simple. Most all of you are adults that that should be a simple concept to you.
I don’t give my money to the Mouse anyway. So here’s my question… What if, instead of it being one small detail in a large store, they decide to make All the New Stuffeds look like the mural? Is it still just complaining and whining? Personally I couldn’t care any less. I think it’s hidious. LOL
Actually, art is very much a personal decision of like/don’t like. It’s often an instantaneous reaction just by looking at something called “art” and you will always have varied opinions no matter what. That includes “masterpieces” like Picasso. People love Picasso artwork but I don’t personally like his work.
I had a stained glass studio for over 27 years, so, my eye likes this! It’d make a wonderful window. What I hated was the Mickey that couldn’t fit his shorts because he was so skinny! Looked very weird. I wanted to feed him! Ha! As long as kids love it/him, I’m very fine with it. THAT’S Walt’s Dream.
I like most of the mural. The colors and fluid movement are great. I don’t like the Picasso-inspired face of the mouse. Looks more like Mortimer than Mickey, to me. We just got back from WDW a couple weeks ago and were very conflicted. We’ve spent 65+ weeks there over the years and have never wanted to leave when the time came. This year, we didn’t even use all of our tickets and left feeling meh. It was a odd experience. But, what we intimately determined is that as with all things Disney, for good or bad, this too shall pass. We will enjoy what we love, tolerate what we like and ignore what isn’t our cup of tea. Walt didn’t open the parks to stay the same forever, he loved and lived progress. There is enough there for everyone to find something they love, but not everyone will love everything. And that’s okay.
I don’t hate it. It’s not Walt’s mouse. Neither was the one before it. You who look at this mural and hate it have obviously never seen what Mickey looked like in Steamboat Willie. Fact: Mickey has evolved over time. Look at how Mickey performers costumes looked at the Disneyland Grand Opening Gala… stuff of kid’s nightmares. Maybe this is a healthier Mickey. I am for one, at least happy it is not that lazy animation from Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. Ugh.. And maybe this healthier, tinner Mickey may inspire some of you who have eaten so much you can hardly fit through the turnstyles to get your own selves in better shape so you won’t have to clog up Mainstreet with mobility scooters like the plaque in the arteries around your hearts.
Wow. You seem pretty hateful and ignorant. There are many many many reasons people become morbidly obese and simply “eating too much” alone doesn’t cause it. Be thankful you can use your legs to walk long distances and mind your business how other people move.
A smile on Mickey’s face.
Freedom. You are at Disney world. You are blessed. Your family could finally go to Epcott. Fun times. People who are dissatisfied with themselves will always find something to complain about. And then they die. Come on an LIVE UP this life. You don’t like the painting? What DO you like? Be thankful for our freedom while we are still free. 🇺🇸 🙏🏿
I really don’t like anything about Epcot these days. Five years ago it was my favorite park, I went two days ago and honestly- I have no desire to return.

Who or what is that on the mural?
June
Disney has gone too woke. It’s no longer a family friendly environment. Time to boycott Disney and it’s nonsense. Yuck
LizS
Stop using that word for every single change Disney does that YOU don’t like. You cheapen it’s original meaning.
Annmarie
That mural is hideous! Mickey looks like he had a bad face-lift! Does anyone look at the paintings before they are installed?
Sandy
I don’t know why the people running Walt’s company think they know more than Walt!!
It’s making me sick!
Sparkle
What in the world is “woke”?
Boycott Disney over a mural? That doesn’t even make any sense.

I don’t like it, Mickey looks terrible, hope it doesn’t last for a very long time.

All I can say is…Mickey looks like that thing off of Beetlejuice, that stretches it’s face out into some kind of Bird’s Beak or something. 🤢🤮

Did Mickey get a face lift? I don’t like it. Leave Walts mouse alone!

LOL so now you and you alone get to decide what encompasses criticism? 👍 Ok bud.

If you saw what they did to Trump’s face in Hall of Presidents, it appears they’re pushing Mickey down the same road.

Looks fine to me. I don’t get what the fuss is about. I can’t wait for this stupid pandemic to be over so I can feel comfortable seeing in person.
Susan
I love the sense of movement in the painting! Very lively! Even the colors shift from left to right to indicate a Doppler type effect on the colors!
Debbie
Old disney fan here. I personally don’t get the hate. This is a colorful and fun mural. Very pretty.
