It was drained when we were there the second and third weeks in August, too. Same for the water at Aladdin’s Magic Carpets. It was a bit odd because little things like that and ride breakdowns made me feel like the park needed to be better maintained. First time I’d ever had that thought there. Usually Disney prides itself on creating a complete and impressive guest experience.

There is currently an extreme water shortage in central Florida. Those rides use hundreds, if not thousands of gallons of water and in the hot climate down here, the evaporation rate is tremendous which would require constant refilling. They are trying to be water conscious.

    1. Water conscious is wonderful! Central/South FL have built themselves into a state of emergency for years.
The Central Floridian (not to be confused with Floridan LOL) version of SWIFTMUD can’t be much better or they wouldn’t be in the state they are now.

Be wonderful to be COVID conscious, as well.
DisneyWorld can well afford to pay its own unemployment benefits….looks like it will have to shut down anyway.
It would be great if an iconic FL employer took care of FL residents, employees and parkgoers alike.

Gov. Preying Mantis DeSantis would rather listen to the sound of his 30 pieces of silver from big business lobbyists than the sound of tears from those the Florida COVID dead left behind reproach him with.

I can certainly see it being unused currently for the drought situation, but what in the world would it have to do with not using the feature for Covid hospitalizations?

Was there in July. There was a remnant of water… from rain. But no water!

We were in Magic Kingdom on July 9th and 11th and there was no water underneath then either.
