Staring creepily at its owner, this Haunted Mansion gargoyle peers over his perch, candlesticks in hand. The wooden glaze recreates a classic carved tiki effect while keeping the familiar angles of our haunted friend. The top of his head is hollow and open to hold your favorite tiki drink and garnishes.

Disney’s TikTok channel released some haunting news about a brand-new offering at Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar. A Gargoyle from Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion cut loose from New Orleans Square and flew the coop to Trader Sam’s. The details from the post tell us how to obtain this mournful mug starting this Friday:

Welcome, Foolish Mortals… to Trader Sam’s?Ā  That’s what happens with two things collide. This ghoulish delight is available by mobile order on Friday, Sept 17th.

Sculptor and designer Tim Wollweber, together will fellow artist Marcus Gonzalez created this Haunted Mansion gargoyle tiki mug. From D23, we hear that this Disneyland Creative Design Team, shares a love of tiki. Gonzales shares, “‘Growing up in Anaheim in the ’70s, my initial interest in tiki began with Kono, Hawaii (a Hawai’ian-Japanese tropical-themed restaurant in Santa Ana).” Wollweber adds, “I’ve always been fond of tiki, enjoying the simplistic, block style.”

Tim Wollweber shared the Disney Parks TikTok channel screenshot of his art turned to life, and blasting his excitement and hopefully later sharing behind-the-scenes details of how the team created this mug.

Here we are, finally announced! The #tradersamsĀ #hauntedmansionĀ #gargoylemug is appearing this Friday, Sept 17 at Trader Samā€™s at the Disneyland Resort. Hope you enjoy this as much asĀ @marcusgonz & I did making it! Iā€™ll have to share some design details soon, if thereā€™s interest!

You can find the other 998 Grim Grinning Ghosts at the Haunted Mansion on either coast of the United States, while this gargoyle takes a mini fall vacation to Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar. While Walt Disney World’s Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto is not expected to have this spirit mug, a ghost can dream, right?
