It was crowded at Epcot on 9/12. Not sure how accurate your info is….

  2. AR

I think the crowds are waiting for Oct. 1st. I know I am! 🙂

    1. Haywood

You do realize this is the off-peak season which happens every year right? But someone from the outside looking in will just post whatever so it’s all good!

      1. Charmaine Debono

Maybe people are not giving in to their greed? I am not for sure!

      2. Former Passholder

There’s no such thing as off-peak season. Disney restructured to eliminate off-peak, value, etc years ago. Look back to 2018/2019 at this time of year and you will likely find the parks were packed.

        1. JB

Exactly Former Passholder! Some people refuse to accept the new reality Disney faces

        2. Nikki

I was at WDW this time of year in both 2018 and 2019, because it’s my favorite time to go. The parks were certainly not packed. In fact, in 2019, we annoyed that our mid-week Not So Scary party was at least twice a busy as MK was during the day on any day of our trip. Epcot was so empty that we were about to tour the entire F&W festival and ride everything before 4:00. This is still definitely off-peak. I think it’s really just a sign that business as normal is returning to WDW.

      3. Doc

Not this dead. Face it, It was $3790 for 3 of us 5 nights and 4 days att he park in 2018. For 2021 that exact same time and package is $4667. They also raise the price of items in the Park 22% They are pricing themselves our of reach for most families…

  3. Cdk

Gee, could it be because the magic is gone but prices keep going up?

    1. Gene Conrad

Are you serious? If you know anything about Central Florida visitation, or general summer travel in the United States, you would know that the slowest period for the parks is mid August through mid September, every year! Our kids start going back to school August through September, this is normal. I can’t believe this is an article.

      1. Mykl

        Try early February.

      2. Rob

I keep seeing these articles and really don’t understand what the big mystery is. Normally domestic numbers drop off this time of year as American kids go back to school but international visitors taking advantage of the lower prices and crowds bump the numbers back up. That’s obviously not happening right now as travel to Florida is restricted. Case closed.

        1. JB

Rob I think while that is usually the case the new COVID protocol and reservation system has thrown a monkey wrench in their operations and procedures and is having a big impact on guest satisfaction. No one likes having more rules and regulations when their going to the Magic Kingdom to escape into a world of Fantasy. It totally kills the entire atmosphere

          1. JB, “kill” is the key word, is the reason for Covid restrictions, in spite of DeSantis crying.

      3. Doc

I do, for 20 uears we been coming down in the off season with our Autistic son, Its NEVER been this dead. They are simply pricing themselves our of reach for the majority. When you can look at a Hawaiian Vacation as the same price as a Disney vacation, it’s becoming a very big problem…..

    2. rroe

Magic is still there, but prices are sky rocketing beyond affordability. Bob Paycheck to the rescue 🙁

    3. Larie

Would love to visit again, it’s been 25 years with my kids, love to bring the grandkids but sure can’t afford today’s prices!

      1. Nick

If it was that important maybe you should have put aside some money in a Return to Disney Fund each year for those 25 years.

        1. KB

          Well that was pretty unnecessary

    4. Stephanie McClain

I agree, this last week was my first visit to Disney parks and I was extremely disappointed. No magic, no fan fair, no characters. Half the rides were broken down or you got stuck in them. I am going to stick with Cedar Point and Universal Studio.

      1. John R.

We were there from 9/1 – 9/8 and had the complete opposite experience. Lots of magic and characters, no crowds or
        issues with rides whatsoever.

    5. Nancy Winters

      Exactly what I said.

  4. John

Maybe the increased prices are starting to become a attendance factor.
People are starting to show their interest is declining because of higher costs…

    1. Charmaine Debono

I agree with you… Maybe the people who cldnt wait for covid to be over to visit as well as die hard fans visited in spite of the increased prices but now the rest of the world is not ready to give in to their greed. I mean higher prices but no fast passes no early and late entries… In my case we had tickets to go over but I cancelled them… There are so many other places that are naturally magical… If they want people to visit international they need to give money’s worth. Obv this is just my family and my opinion

  5. Ted Nagel

We were just at Universal Orlando. Stayed on site. The hotel (Royal Pacific) and the parks were VERY quiet.

    1. Ken

I was there as well (same resort) and outside of Harry Potter World, the parks were all but empty.

      1. Mychal

I was just there, the parks were packed over the weekend, but dropped off after Labor Day.

  6. Paul Macuch

I have noticed that the prices for everything at Disney World are extremely high and being on a fixed income it may cost my wife and I around $6,000+or-, and that’s with us driving from Pennsylvania and back. I wanted to go to Disney World one more time before I get too old to get around. I am 75yrs old now and the last time I traveled to the park you could go to any of the theme parks with one pass. Now it costs separately for each. It seems so confusing as to how I can plan some type of visit that won’t be our last savings. I want to have a memorable visit but don’t know what to do.

    1. I am with you on that. Visiting Disney World is a complicated event. Have to decide so many things and you don’t have an idea about the weather. What if I want to go another day to same park, you have to be on internet to get an okay. A lot of computer time, a lot of money, no guarantees. 😔

    2. Paul, you may want to get in touch with an official Disney vacation planner, not a 3rd party planner. They will take the time to explain all your options to make your vacation decisions. Soon to begin 18 month 50th Anniversary Celebration is about to begin. Again be sure you’re dealing with Disneyworld directly, as there have been some 3rd party planners going out of business with vacationers being left out.

    3. Jenn

Use a free Disney travel agency like the Vacationeer. I’ve heard really good things about them!

  7. Chris

Time for new management. What they have ain’t gettin’ it done, obviously.

    1. rroe

      Bob Paycheck to the rescue!!!

  8. Pat

Is Disney going down? Ridiculous with statues taken away and shows and closing rides. Unforgiveable!!!!!

    1. Justin

      Dramatic.

  9. John

I’ve seen several articles recently claiming lower crowds at various Disney World parks. This is obviously a marketing push by Disney that is not based in reality. Wait times in other similar deceptive articles were taken prior to park opening and parking lot pictures are from 9:01am. I’ve been to the parks in the last 1-2 weeks and they are packed and miserable due to crowds. I hate they raised prices so much, but people are still everywhere. Someone at Disney is terrified the increase in prices will cause a drop in crowds, so they are pumping it up with these fake articles just in case.

    1. TR

It is called “economic discrimination “. Or simply economics…raise prices to find that sweet spot of profit and crowds!

    2. Former Passholder

It’s a 5 minute wait for the majority of attractions at MK right now, so your argument is invalid.

      1. Disney Freak

Not true. Was at MK 9/13 and it was packed. People mover and carousel of progress was 5 minutes. Seven dwarfs and Jungle Cruise reached 70 minutes. Haunted Mansion never got below 25 minutes. People were everywhere. Are you sure you are not talking about Disneyland?

    3. John, this site, ITM, is not run by Disney. It covers all the Orlando entertainment options. I do agree some of the stories have pointless endings.

      1. Jean

Was there on the 11th. Nothing was 5 minutes. Every ride was 20 to 40 minutes except mine train was constantly around 55. Min.

  10. Michelle

Could it be people are tired of the mask restrictions and higher prices? Or maybe the fact that Disney is taking the magic away little by little by giving into “woke” culture and cancelling great rides! Why would anyone want to come back to a place to see the fantasy is all but gone with employees in muzzles and guests treated with disrespect? You think the crowds are dwindling now, you ain’t see nothing yet if Disney mandates vaccine passports as well. People are speaking with their dollars! No amount of refurbishing will change the fact that more and more people are now out of jobs and can’t afford to live in a fantasy world of yesterday.

    1. rroe

When you get Covid and your gasping for your last breath, remember what you just posted…….MANY are.

      1. Jason

99.9% survival rate. It’s the flu. People on a “Disney diet” of sweets and fried garbage think a mask & injection all of a sudden makes them healthy?! THERE ARE NOT SWATHS OF PEOPLE DYING EVERYWHERE, get over yourself you media propagandist. The problem is people thinking it’s okay to eat whatever they want and completely and willfully destroying their immune systems with their lifestyles and diets. You have absolutely no idea what it means to be healthy.

      2. Ken

        Nice try.

      3. Sue

Troll. Virus has a 97% recovery rate with three proven therapies rendering both the mask and vaccines unnecessary.

    2. Ginger

      AMEN!

    3. O.

      Amen Michelle!

    4. JC

100% agree, I live close by Disney was an annual pass holder until Covid now Disney way too ‘woke’ and I will not renew
People will speak with their pockets and feet. Disney needs to wake up and realize there are millions of us they are pushing away

    5. yoyo

you said it Michelle. This paid Genie will hopefully sick greedy man chapek into the board getting rid of him. Higher prices with decreasing magic…. BOOOOO

    6. Ken

You’re right on. We were going to WDW twice a year for the last five (before covid). Now, we just go to Florida and do other stuff. No way wearing a mask all day.

    7. Laura Zibell

Agree! Greed and pitics will destroy a once magical place!

    8. Sue

Totally agree with you. WDW does not have the right to enforce anything about any one’s health for cast members or guests.

  11. Will

I live next door and go often. Also have family that works there. Every September the attendance drops off so this is nothing unusual. As for the passes, an annual pass still works at any park…you just need to make a reservation. That can often be done online a day before.

    1. Will

Oh yea…as for vaccine passports, I have never EVER heard of it in any discussion by Disney. They opened in July 2020 and the workers generally get paid well ($14 – 15 ph) which is more than the CNAs working in the medical field. Disney is still a good place to work and the perks are nice!

      1. Terry

Well done Disney how much were you paid to post that comment What perks do you speak of? The measly discount off merchandise? No fast pass reservation system no entertainment no meet and greets bob paycheck greed is showing and btw check 2018 and 2019 parks were packed this time of year

      2. AB

That’s sad when Disney Worker’s get paid more than a CNA does that works in the “Medical Field”, dealing “DIRECTLY”, with the elderly who are exposed to Covid every day !!!! Sad world we live in !

  12. Amy

We were there from 9/5-9/12 and it was definitely super crowded each day. We didn’t see any of those low crowd pics that have been shared here the weeks and days leading to our trip. Some rides were lower wait times here and there but it wasn’t all day everyday.

  13. Dennis Brown

Crowded 11th and 12th, where’s your data from

  14. Scott

When you go “woke” and you force masks (especially when Universal Studios doesn’t) … people will go elsewhere!

    1. SG

      Definition of woke :

      /wōk/
      verb
alert to injustice in society, especially racism.
“we need to stay angry, and stay woke”

      1. Htk

        You are mentally ill.

    2. AB

You guys are really misinterpreting the meaning of what “being WOKE” really is and means but carry on 🤦🏾‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️!!!

  15. Doug

Maybe if you lifted you’re mask mandated bull crap more customers will show up not forget you provide a service and we the people run you if it wasn’t for us you would not be in business

    1. AB

Getting way too political I see calm down don’t blow a gasket sir lol 😂

  16. Exdisneyfan

Believe me when I say I was a huge Disney fan. But with all the changes and price increases I am becoming the opposite. A Disney cynic. All I can see now is the managements greedy, money grabbing ways to squeeze every last penny out of it’s customers. This sounds daft but my Christmas tree is all Disney glass collected over the last 25 years. I am dreading putting this up this year because the excitement and magic has gone. So sad. Think the glass will be kept packed away. I just hope Disney sees sense and brings back it’s respect for its visitors.

  17. Scott

I have a week booked in October and five weeks booked from Dec 27th Through the end of February. We’re just waiting to see if they like the mask non-sense because if they don’t, we’re canceling. Hard no for us.

I assume their bookings probably add to their confusion because I’m sure there are plenty of others like us that are holding on to their hard-to-get reservations until we’re sure the situation isn’t going to change before canceling.

They may think the situation is one way but in reality, it’s much worse. They just do see it until it’s actually time for people to show up.

My recommendation… let people make their own health decisions. Like all others who have come before you, get woke, go broke. The Disney empire is not immune from the Woke Disease. It’s much deadlier than COVID.

    1. DonB

So you think it’s a “ personal decision “ to potentially infect others ?Unless you take Covid seriously, just away from WDW and everywhere else if that is your belief system.

      1. SI

Do you think I need to wear a raincoat so you stay dry? That’s what you’re saying g. The jabs are safe and effective is the narrative. Worry about yourself only.

      2. Antonette

Obviously, you morons that are anti-maskers haven’t lost a loved one to covid. It’s real and it’s a PUBLIC HEALTH ISSUE, NOT A POLITICAL AGENDA. I can’t believe the immaturity and selfishness of my fellow Americans. What happened to us caring about one another. If you just can’t bear to be inconveniencedwearing a mask, then STAY HOME!

        1. NNancy Winters

          Agree!
          Perfectly stated.

        2. Jason

People with healthy immune systems don’t drop dead from this flu. Maybe understand eating genetically modified poisons is why people have been sick even before a pandemic. Stop with your virtue signaling acting like it’s okay to consume whatever you want when it most definitely isn’t! You have no idea what true health is.

    2. D.D.

      Totally agree Scott!

  18. Julie

Or maybe because the borders are closed no one can visit, especially us Brits, 2nd trip now cancelled, international tourism has got to be suffering

    1. Charmaine Debono

Omg my feeling exactly my Xmas tree exactly and all my display cabinets are also Disney memorabilia… And now I have lost interest coz nothing they offer is worth my money

  19. DonB

We just returned from a week at WDW visiting all 4 parks. The crowds we expected over the Labor Day holiday and following week were most certainly less than in prior years. Maybe , and hopefully , the price gouging by the new CEO is backfiring. The new Annual Pass pricing will certainly drive repeat guests away.

  20. Jean

Yes crowds are down, they always are this time of year, but they are far from empty. These articles are ridiculous

    1. JB

      XD hahaha

    2. AB

They are not ridiculous they are being truthful

    3. Laura Zibell

I’m not masking up my children to go to an expensive place that caves into every woke culture whim.

  21. DS

Not enough magic to make it worth spending all that money just to get in the gates. The parks are rundown. The hotels are desperately in need of refurbishments. Their new rides are the same track system in just different locations. No imagine used what so ever. Trams aren’t running due to staff shortages and greed. Walt would be embarrassed by these parks. He wanted a place families could go. Greedy Disney wants it for only the elite. Wait until genie + starts. You pay for being able to get only one fast pass at a time. If you can’t get the ones you want until much later in the day, it’s tough for you. I see a lot of folks at guest services demanding their money back because they can’t get on the rides in a timely manner. It was acceptable when it was free. But when you have to pay folks expect better results.

    1. AB

This (Genie+ , Lighting Lane), is going to be proven an EPIC FAIL for WDW I can see the line all the way, way, back for Guest Relations lol 😂!!!!

  22. Blanche

Love disney but will not go back until MASK MANDATE is gone. Everyone I talk to say the same thing..wearing that nasty mask is not a vacation…Quit listening to the lies and listen to your customers…

    1. KTM

You are so right Blanche. We work too hard to spend our vacation dollars someplace where we will be miserable sweating in a mask all day. No thanks. Let me know when they are gone and I’ll be back. Until then, I’m spending my money in more relaxing mask-free venues.

  23. Kathleen

It’s ALWAYS quiet this time of year

    1. JB

      Hahahaha

  24. Rachel Winiecki

I remember going there in late August year ago and there were so many people there they closed entry by 12:00 because of capacity issues. Maybe the greed factor has finally bit them in their Butt??

    1. Laurie

      Yes, very much so.

  25. Laurie

Disney just crossed the line in the sand. Our 4 generation Disney family has 50 trips worth of wonderful memories over the years. Now, after all of the idiotic changes and restrictions we will never go back. Disney is now showing their greed and we want nothing to do with it. I just canceled a long awaited trip. The magic is gone and it saddens us so much. I never knew this day would come. No way in hell will we wear a mask on a Magical trip.

  26. nopenopenope

it was CROWDED i was there this weekend.

do not listen to this FUD nonsense.

    1. April Bonilla

I have been monitoring the wait times for the last three weeks, and yes they have been very low on all rides !!!! One day Pandora was literally a 15 minute wait !!!!! For more than one day at that !!!! This article is very truthful ! And yes I am a Gold Passholder and a Central Floridian, and a proud mask wearer 🥰😃 !!!!! Crowds are down it is what it is !!!!!

  27. jo

Perhaps the idea of having your face in a phone all day picking one ride at a time finally has people reconsidering their time at Disney. Chapek should be replaced with a WALT Disney fan. Walt’s dream is dying thanks to Chapek. Hopefully people who are not locked into going will cancel and go elsewhere. Chapek is trying to remove all the magic and make another common theme park. Go six flags. We had a ball and the roller coasters are way better. Disney has been our go to vacation for 11 years due to the magic. Not anymore more. Six Flags in St. Louis is the bomb.

    1. Diane

Yeyyyy!! I won’t have to ER (early release) anymore!! I’m looking forward to crowds again.
      – Cast member

    2. AB

You guys are really misinterpreting the meaning of what “being WOKE” really is and means but carry on 🤦🏾‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️!!!

      1. AB

Sorry I posted this under the wrong comment lol my bad !

    3. AB

I TOTALLY AGREE with you on GA being the better theme park as far as rides go !!!!!

  28. NSBmom

I have a premier Universal 3 park 15 month pass. A 12 month pixie dust Disney pass. There wasn’t a whole lot of difference in the price. Couple hundred dollars. Therein lies the problem. Disney has priced themselves out of the everyday goers pockets let alone once in a lifetime families. I still love Disney but I spend more time and money at Universal.

  29. James corner

It’s not surprising the car parks are empty we had a holiday all booked and paid for and we were supposed to be going in October this year but if the borders are still shut what can be done? Surely it is time to consider opening the borders now suprised the states still have a travel industry 🤔

  30. Tim

When President Biden lifts the travel ban, we will be back in the thousands from UK

    1. Justin

Don’t come to Florida, seriously. 1200 people die a day here from covid. Nobody here takes it seriously. Wait til the uhh….. Opposition thins out..

      1. A

        False. Troll much Justin?

      2. Diane

Justin, only 98% of GUESTS wear masks while IN the park. They give us the evil eye or are verbally abusive when indoors having to tell them to put their masks on or put it over their nose. You’d think they’d be afraid & wear their masks. People who live in Floridia wear their masks, including some who were vaccinated. At least in my surrounding towns. I went to Cocoa & people had masks on. The other day I saw a guy driving a motorcycle wearing a mask. Pretty funny; it’s not airborne. I just wanted to throw that out there.

  31. Barb

Crowds drop in numbers for various reasons but I’m positive the consistent raising of prices on everything is having a big impact. Like I’ve said before, better watch out folks, the next shocker in prices could mean pay toilets!

    1. Diane

Barb, you are absolutely correct!!! (I have to watch what I say)
      – CM

  32. Justin

I was just at Hollywood Studios Sunday and I’m at Animal Kingdom today, seems pretty busy to me… Went to Magic Kingdom a couple weeks ago and waited an hour for the Haunted Mansion.. 🤷🏻‍♀️

    1. Diane

An hour is not a long wait at all – it’s a very short wait!! It’s a very, very popular ride which makes it a ‘oh my God, I can’t believe it’s only an hour wait!!!”
      – CM

    2. AB

Wowwwww you waited an hour for “HAUNTED MANSION” ??? Lol that was your first mistake lol

    3. AB

My daughter and I only get on “Haunted Mansion” if the wait is 20 minutes or less not worth the hour wait time in my opinion !

  33. NMK

Nobody wants to take a very expensive vacation just to be miserable and suffocated by a mask all day. I went while the mask rule was not in effect and it was great. No way in hell I would suffer in high heat an humidity behind a mask to be insulted by the new age WOKE park.

    1. Diane

Mask required indoors only. I’m a CM.

    2. AB

You guys are really misinterpreting the meaning of what “being WOKE” really is and means but carry on 🤦🏾‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️!!!

  34. Jessa

Has anyone considered the fact that disney is requiring masks whereas universal and seaworld are not as a reason why the park attendance at Disney are so low? I have no data and am not saying this is the reason, but I do think is an interesting theory and am curious if it’s been explored

    1. Diane

Masks are only required when indoors . If a cast member is vaccinated they too don’t have to wear a mask outdoors.

    2. AB

At Universal Studios and IOA as well as SeaWorld Orlando, you don’t have to even wear masks indoors which is a plus !

    3. AB

Oh and I forgot to mention Busch Gardens Tampa Bay no indoor masks on rides or in retail locations

  35. KP

We were annual passholders & they need to come back along with fast passes & no masks

    1. AB

“New” annual passes are available to purchase and Fast Pass will not be returning and masks are only required indoors at retail locations and while waiting in line for rides

  36. Disney Freak

I’ve been at Disney World for 4 days now and can’t believe the amount of people here. It is packed. I was here July 2019 and there are more people here now than summer 2019. This writer is losing credibility.

  37. Diane

I’m a cast member. I work in Cosmic Rays the busiest restaurant in the Nation no matter what season it is! It’s currently terribly boring. The restaurant never has a crowd. Only the lunch & dinner rush
for 30/45 minutes. I have gotten an ER (early release) 4 weekends in a row – that has never happened in past years. Low attendance is not because it’s off season! It could either be the pandemic, which I highly doubt because 98% of guests don’t wear masks, or because of October’s celebration. I pray it picks up, get my normal wages. I rather lose money than be bored! The day drags. Let’s see what happens the months ahead to February. The holidays are approaching. Fingers crossed.

  38. James

I went elsewhere this summer. Who wants to where a mask all day and be in a park that isn’t fully operational?

  39. Bill Ormsbee

As a cast member at Disneyland they also refuse to tell us what our capacity is currently. I think guests are finally waking up and realize that every time they turn around they are being charged for things that used to be included. This includes fast passes, Christmas parades etc. they also need to reopen the kennel and get the trams running

  40. Bri

Good for them! With the insane entrance prices people should stop going altogether!
It’s ridiculous the markup over the past years let alone from last year to now! No thank you we’ll go elsewhere!
