  1. Don’t you think Disney should put signs at the Cinderella Castle gates instead acting like that? Unbelievable!

    1. Erin

If there was no sign or warning, he would have filmed himself going up the stairs.

    2. G C

There is a sign there that says “exit only” as well as other signs that say “cast members only” not to mention as someone who’s frequently at Disney a little common sense may apply. If I left my front door open and there wasn’t a sign and nobody stopped him … would that be OK?

    3. Justin

I would think the fact that it is generally chained off and there was nobody else up there should be enough… Take some context cues…

      1. Joseph Michael Charles Caito

Sadly I can’t ever afford to go there and my spouse who is also below poor class was wrongfully charged with a crime 30 years ago that makes it impossible to get a job and now he’s disabled but accordingly not enough for the government standards. It would be a dream to become a cast member though so I could legally go up the stairs. I have autism and Disney shows and movies brings me joy.

        1. Debs

Whats this to do with anything?

          1. Anon

They’re just looking for a free Disney trip

          2. Melanie Durham

            Hey, be nice

      2. I totally agree with you. I read the whole article too. It was a restricted area!

  2. Steve L

“Afterwards, I talked to the security office to try and get it revoked. I made clear I knew what I was doing was wrong but that there were no signs and no security.”

When you’re defense is “I know what I was doing was wrong…” yeah, you’re going to get in trouble. He should’ve went with “I didn’t know…”

    1. Charlie Turner

He says that he “knew what he was doing was wrong” but since there were no signs or security he did it anyway.

Right there he admitted his guilt.

      1. If you don’t work there …Don’t act like
You own everything to impress your friends, because that is not your job In the first place.

    2. Sean

I knew it was wrong to rob that bank, but there was no security there to prevent me from robbing the bank, so i shouldn’t get jail time….the logic of some idiots is amazing!

      1. I totally agree with you. I read the whole article too. It was a restricted area!

  3. Jack S

“I knew it was wrong to walk out of the Emporium with a 50th Anniv Loungefly Backpack without paying, but there was no sign saying not to.”

    1. Loye

      Haha!!! Love it!

      1. CiCi

He knew what he was doing was wrong, so he needs to live with the consequences and stop whining. Our society makes it too easy to blame everyone else for the reason they did something idiotic.

  4. Allison

You knew it was wrong but did it anyway. Consequences for your actions.

    1. Allen

The bad thing is he could have cost someone their job by lieing about no rope or signage. Tired of the “look at me!” attitude of this generation.

      1. JustJessee

To be fair, EVERY generation has a “look at me” phase that makes the previous generation roll their eyes until the next generation starts doing it themselves. Let’s not act like this is unique. This was just a more widely reported incident.

This particular person was just trying to be clever with the “but there were no signs….” bs.

        1. Diane

How could there be when it’s only this generation who are addicted to narcissism and video and photograph every aspect of their lives simply to broadcast for ‘likes’
I’ve seen far too much terrible and selfish behaviour since social media reared it’s ugly head.
Lets be realistic, most of these young people who go to Disney parks now do it so they can post endless photos and videos of themselves, not for the reasons we go for. Just look at the restored home movies on YouTube and the type of guests are so different; the vast majority are families and older people, hardly any between the ages of 18 and 35.

          1. Sid

Harsh to attack an entire generation over a few entitled addicted to attention people. If tech was big in any generation, they’d be the same. The age group between 18-35 can’t afford to go to Disney anymore as they have no savings. It’s not that they wouldn’t enjoy the magic.

      2. Steve

Who would even think this was ok to do? Bcuz of people like this, that’s why there are directions on a candle bcuz someone lit it wrong and said there were no directions. Just thinks he’s important.

I agree with all the comments, but both sides were at fault. I wanted to go to Disney in October for my 61st birthday and Disney’s 50th birthday but now I’m having second thoughts. If Disney isn’t in control of their parks better than this, I don’t want to go for my own safety. Where are the signs, the authoritative staff and security to stop people like this who just take over, ignoring and disrespecting Disney rules? This guest should have been banned for Life, just for his lack of respect of Disney and their rules. We who obey and respect the rules do not want to be amongst those who don’t! Certainly not on a day when you want to vacation and have a fun day!!

      1. Sue

Disney staff is way too concerned and over burdened on making sure you wear your mask for a virus that has a 97% recovery rate.

        1. Gern Blanston

Thank goodness Sue has done the research and doesn’t understand math. Please feel free to refuse medical care when you get sick as you shouldn’t have anything to worry about.

        2. Diane

That 3% is still a lot of people

        3. JS

Actually it’s more like 99.3% rate, but it is still a pandemic that is killing a lot of people. Wearing a mask is still way better then having the parks close down again (and it does save lives).

      2. DZ

Have you been to Disney World? Taken a backstage tour or just looked around? There are hundreds of places in each park that are marked for cast members only or not marked at all where people can get behind or into attractions. Disney would have to hire a LOT more people to watch all of these places all the time.

In the grand scheme of things, this was a pretty minor thing. I’m sure worse happens every year that we don’t hear about, and yet millions of people visit there quite happily.

        1. JS

As a former cast member I can day this is very true. Yes, he shouldn’t have gone up there, but it didn’t affect anyone’s safety so it’s really not as big of an issue. Trust me, way worse happens there.

      3. Chacha

Thank you for voicing my thoughts also! Thanks

      4. Gloria varga

Happy50th to WDW ! And happy 50th anniversary to my husband And I who will celebrate that in January 2022. Guess where we went for our honeymoon? The Magic Kingdom, yes! It had just opened. I grew up with the Mouseketeer and loved them. Use to run home from school to watch them. Wish we were going there again.thanks for all the memories .

  5. Allen

The bad thing is he could have cost someone their job by lieing about no rope or signage. Tired of the “look at me!” attitude of this generation.

    1. Beans

Hmm where do you think they learned this behavior from? Oh, from YALL! The hypocrisy of these Middle Aged people and their mid life crisis is surreal 🙄🙄🙄

      1. Antoine

        WaaWaaWaaa!!!

      2. Todd R Hudson

Yeah maybe but as in my case i tell my kids the stupid things I did and why they were stupid hoping they listen so they make smarter decisions.

      3. Diane

Yeah, blame it on us. Just remember one day you’ll be our age and be blamed for everything like you are doing to us now.

      4. Just another old lady

Typical. “I did something wrong, so it must be Mommy and Daddy’s fault. ” We didn’t have social media to obsess over. We’ve been out in the world supporting a new entitled generation of adult children who idolize morons and narcissists. Please for the love of God or whatever, grow up.

      5. JS

Can we just agree that all generations have their problems. No need to attack middle age people. As someone who is pushing 40 I can tell you that mid-lide crisises suck. Trust me, you’ll be there too someday. Understand you g people have a lot of crap to deal with, but remember older people have dealt with just as much in their life time. And what does this have to do with the article?

  6. Sue

I really think people lose there common sense when they go to Disney. Or I should say what common sense they have left.

  7. Anthony

    Biden’s fault

    1. Mel

How so? *Articulate answers only please, if capable.

      1. JS

I think that was a joke.

  8. Mike

Do we need to have signs in restaurants telling people not to go in the kitchen?!

  9. Lauren

Disney customers are some of the craziest, selfish and entitled people I have ever met.

    1. Dland56

How funny Lauren because YOU’RE ONE OF THEM when YOU BOUGHT A TICKET TO THERE PARK 🤣🤣🤣🤣

      1. yup and I am the craziest addicted Disney person. Not selfish or entitled. All these comments are certainly harsh.

      2. Just another old lady

If you are going to insult someone, please at least learn to spell. It’s “their,” not “there.” Your insult tends to lose it’s impact when you have the grammar of a first grader. Just sayin.

      3. Sean

        “their”

    2. Diane

Only in the last 10-15 years it’s been that way.

  10. Brenda

He knew it was wrong but like everyone else he didn’t care. All he cared about was what HE wanted to do. That’s the problem everywhere!!! People only care about themselves and too bad for the next person!!!

  11. Ronn

Yes we will. 6-8 of us

  12. Stephen

This man is like a small child. Quite aside from his lying about there not being any signage, did it not occur to him for 1 second “oh, I appear to be the only single person up here. Perhaps there is a reason for that..!”

No, it clearly did not. The usual entitled muppet.

  13. Joknows

In the story he is called an “Instagram Influencer” People who think they are influencers regularly do things that are not allowed or are unsafe so they can get a picture or video no one else has. He should be charged with trespassing and be banned for however long Disney sees fit.

    1. Jmun

      agreed!

  14. Rich

Just another cry for “look at me” that comes from an insecure individual. If you want to “influence” somebody, do some volunteer work and influence people to do something positive for society rather than just cry for attention.

    1. Dulcie

      Thank you!!! Exactly.

  15. Just Me

NO EXCUSES…knew better…throw out the trash and get over it!

  16. Mickey Mouse

Is this why my Disney stock took a plunge by 5%

    1. Dland56

      🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Good one 🤣🤣🤣

  17. Ben

    Who cares?
It’s not like he destroyed the park or hurt anything or even created much liability. I don’t see any safety issues.
He paid for the park, slap on the wrist should have been plenty!

    1. Rick

Great idea, Ben. Disney should open all the Utilidors and cast member areas to the paying guests as well. They’re just being poop heads, aren’t they?

  18. Chuck

What are the chances he’d be going back within 6 months anyway? Unless he has a season pass. Useless punishment

  19. Ron

This fella was not using his common sense when ascending the staircase. Maybe if he writes a letter of apology, Disney will reconsider his situation.

  20. Sue

Disney has actually missed a perfect opportunity. No one has ever been allowed on that balcony. However it is a great place for photographs.

  21. Another idiot who knew he was wrong but did it anyway- its like all the looters in the big cities recently, they knew it was wrong but did it anyway- or maybe they didnt know it was wrong, either way- trumps fault!

  22. CJA

If, according to Nico, he knew it was wrong, why the heck did he go anyway? Why do you have to have a sign telling you not to do something when you know you shouldn’t? Classic trying to deflect bad behavior onto something else.

    1. Gee, he broke a rule….not that life altering! I guess had he fallen down the stairs It could have been but no harm done…..I’d take the 6 month ban, the cool photo on the balcony is worth it, lol!

  23. Of course he should not have been up there. But sometimes a little leniency should be granted. No signs, open doors and all he did was have his picture taken on stairs. He admitted he realized he was wrong. Come on Disney you are bigger than that.

  24. T

Only a pic on the stairs? Yet if you look at his pic, he is on the balcony.

  25. Karen

I practically lived at Disneyland in SoCal when I was a kid, but now you couldn’t pay me to go to any Disney park. It hasn’t been the happiest place on earth for a long time. Too many rules and regs.

  26. That’s like saying I knew robbing a person at gunpoint is wrong. But they didn’t have a sign front and back that said please don’t rob me. This moron knew what he was doing and should have been banned for life. So sick of wining folks thinking rules are for anyone but them.

  27. Diane

Disney doesn’t help itself by encouraging so called ‘internet influencers’ to film and broadcast in their parks with no concerns for the privacy of those of us who don’t want to be on film.
I watched a POV video of a ride recently and the person behind the camera pointed it at guests in the car ahead of him while he waited to board and the guy in the car did not look pleased.
Disney says we are giving Disney permission to film us by buying a ticket and entering the park, but, I’ve not given my permission to Tim Tracker, ResortTV, Allears or any other social media ‘influencer’ to video me while they film themselves wittering on as they stand in line or, worse, eat a meal next to me.
Disney encourages these people with freebies, that should end immediately and stop people livestreaming while walking through crowded parks

    1. JS

As long as they are not profiting off it then it is legal. However, since they are influences then chances are they are making profit.

  28. Chris

This is why we can’t have nice things.

  29. CJ Brown

He said “he knew he was wrong” , so that’s an admission of guilt (he must be from the Tide Pods eating Generation who will use any excuse not to take responsibility for their actions!) and I say please “ban him for life” before he comes back and does something more dangerous than foolish at WDW!

IF there is any truth to a typically roped off area (or an area with Signs stating Cast Members only) not having a barrier / boundary for Park Guests to recognize …. I’m sure there is now!

Fools like him are the reasons we have Signage on every single Ride and Attraction explaining what not to do! Social Networks should be a tool vs a place where people do dangerous things for attention! 🤷🏼‍♂️

  30. Terry

Typical Disney BS, Second mortgage your house to visit and we will find a way to ban you!
The guy is so pleased he is saving thousands for 6 months!

Walt is totally upset Disney dumped his dream, Ohhhh. Me Too

    A park for the elitist…..

  31. David

Iv been to the magic kingdom many times and there’s notice s.posted all over . employee s only .there’s no way he did not know he was not supposed to be there.sorry just some one trying for ten minute spot light.

  32. I know a lot of people saying it should be simple common sense, that if you leave your front door open that doesn’t mean a stranger can just walk, but this is Disney world and not someone house so you can’t compare them as the same, people from all over the world travel to Disney world for vacation, a lot of people don’t know or even pay attention to signs they think once they pay for they can explore any where, but I understand that people that frequently fly to Disney may know a lot of park rules but a lot people don’t know it especially if your traveling from a different country. Savieno.com anyway that’s just my opinion tho, for people who already lives in Florida already getting best deals and already knows a lot about the park. Unlike people who’s going for the first time.

  33. Nicole

I’d Love to go back to Disney, but in 2011 I was permanently trespassed because we had bought annual passes and was not told they run background checks on all guest.
So when I and my husband who had a teenager relationship and is a felon, went to go to the park, they had us step aside and we were confronted by the head of security and a Sheriff’s deputy.

As my husband was pleading his case I lost my temper and slapped the face of the head of security, for how rudely he was treating my husband.
I was ready to go to jail , yet the deputy laughed and we both and our 2 children were permanently trespassed from all Disney parks.

So since Universal doesn’t background check it’s guest we’ve been going 5-6 times every year since 2012 and will continue until they adapt such a archaic policy.

If my husband was a threat I’d wouldn’t have married him, let alone have children with him.

So Disney’s 50th can go to hades and back
