Greedy man chapek has long since killed the magic for lil. kids. He is turning it into a common theme park. Disney WAS all about families and kids but as of late with chapek at the helm, WALT’s dream is a sinking ship. It has nothing to do with Nickelodeon or CBS. Its a greedy, non disney fan in charge and an ignorant, purposefully blinded board allowing it to happen that’s sinking disney. Let the responsibility be on truth. Greedy man chapek.
I agree. He’s a jerk and needs to be let go. His persona is tarnished beyond repair and will not be able to lead a company that is all about people. When a number of people just don’t care for your ways, your ship has sank! Out the door he needs to go!
Nope, I don’t think Disney should be doing this. Professional sports today isn’t about the sport itself or the love of the game, it’s about politics! So when kids are exposed to that what do you really think they’re learning? No matter how you spin it (marvel characters or Star Wars) kids see everything and pick up on everything. As someone who played two sports at the collegiate level and use to watch pro games, I can honestly say that since professional sports started doing getting political I do not watch any that bring politics into the arena. It should not be there and doesn’t need to be. Sports are supposed to be like Switzerland; neutral.
Interesting article! I think it’s an unnecessary move though.
As a side note: Snow White was the first American feature-length animation film. Lotte Reiniger’s “The Adventures of Prince Achmed” predates Snow White by a few years, it was just made overseas.
I think if Disney really wants to do something combining sports and Children’s television, they should have used characters from Disney Channel. I don’t think using Marvel was a good move for them. Like Nickelodeon, they should get one of their stars of the shows on Disney Channel and a football player, retired or otherwise to host something similar to what they did. I remember, back on Disney XD, there would be these five minute shorts from SportsCenter called SportsCenter High Five, which counted down the five best sports moments of the week. If Disney Channel and ESPN did an extended version of that with primarily football, then there would be some tight competition between Nickelodeon and Disney.

I think they should. They should expand the NFL deal so that Disney Channel could telecast its own NFL coverage alongside ESPN and ESPN+.

I mean that would be great, right?
