As the world continues to move forward and fight the ongoing pandemic, Walt Disney World Resort continues to modify its health and safety protocols.
The most recent one that we noticed this morning is the return of cafeteria style at Pop Century Resort.
When Disney World reopened to the public last summer amidst the ongoing pandemic, one of the health and safety protocols that they enforced was Mobile Order.
Mobile Order can be done through the My Disney Experience app on a smart device and helped to eliminate long lines, crowds of Guests, and the use of cash payments.
Guests were not able to go into the Quick-Service location unless they had placed a Mobile Order through My Disney Experience and it was ready to be picked up. Once inside, Guests would have to go to the appropriate window, show their order number, and the Cast Member would then hand you the tray of food.
This, however, is no longer the case at Disney’s Pop Century Resort.
When visiting the Quick-Service location at Pop Century this morning for breakfast, we were surprised to see the long Mobile Order pick-up table completely gone and, instead, moved to one small section.
We also noticed a sign that is informing Guests the dining location is now fully reopened, which you can see below.
All of the cafeteria-style sections are now reopened and Guests can come and go as they please. They can also order right at the counter through the Cast Member and pay at the register just as they were able to prior to the ongoing pandemic.
Guests can still use Mobile Order if they prefer as they have a dedicated section to pick up (as seen in the photo below), though it is not has encouraged as it has been this past year.
We are unsure if this will be rolled out to other Disney Resort hotels in the near future, but we can confirm that this morning, September 29. Disney’s All-Star Movies is still utilizing and encouraging Mobile Order and has not yet switched to pre-pandemic cafeteria style.
Have you visited Pop Century recently? Are you happy to see cafeteria-style return to the Quick-Service location or will you continue to use Mobile Order? Let us know in the comments below.
