This is complete bs. It should always say Andy because after raising boys of my own Andy was the only kid I know who cared enough about their toy to write their name on his foot. Man poor woody must have ptsd as well.
When I bought Woody and Buzz for my son shortly after the first movie came out, there was nothing written on them. I then proceeded to write Nathan on them in marker, with a backwards N. At 26 years old, he still has them!
I like the idea (someone here gave) give a marker with woody so the kid who gets that woody can write their name in his boot. If they can not do that then Woodys boot should say ANDY!
just another way for greedy man chapek to remove the magic and the WALT. Really should change the name to greedy man chapek land and let Walt Disney and his dream RIP. People still flock to disney because of the name. chapek ruined it. Woody will always be Andy’s toy first.
All of the 80s kids are watching and laughing… after seeing our childhood revamped or changed in films like Ghostbusters, Karate Kid (the crappy remake not Cobra Kai), and of course Star Wars…. Welcome to our world now!
It has been a while since I watched the movie. Didn’t Bonnie take a marker, draw a line through Andy’s name and write her name above or below it? If I’m remembering that correctly, that should be what is on Woody’s shoe now. If that wasn’t shown in the film, wouldn’t that make more sense than just putting Bonnie’s name?
Andy’s name should definitely be on Woody’s boot. No one could love Woody like Andy did. He only gave them to Bonnie, because he knew that she would take good care of him for her. I also think that if Woody looked at his boot and didn’t see Andy’s name there, he would be heartbroken.
I get it, change is for a lot of us, but it’s going to happen no matter what! I definitely like the blank boot with the sharpie idea! I was saddened to see in the movie when bonnies name written on his boot, but children grow up and move on!
We just purchased a Woody at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim CA 2 weeks ago and the first thing we checked was his boot for Andys name when we seen the boot said Bonnie we were also disappointed!! Andy is the story behind Woody!! thats the original! honestly that was a lame move! kinda killed the purchase too!!
Comments for Fans Are Angry as Disney Makes Major Change to Woody’s Boot

His boot should be left blank and a marker provided so the owner of each Woody can write in their name.

I love this idea!

I had one as a kid… it was blank. I do admit to taking up sharpie to put my name on his boot.

I would agree with this too! I like it!

Former Stores CM here. It’s been Bonnie for quite some time. The change was made shortly after the 3rd film. Idk how this is news to anyone.

It should still say Andy. He gave it to Bonnie but it was his. If anything add Bonnie to other foot or somewhere else but leave Andy there!

This is the perfect solution!

In the movie Andy is on one foot and Bonnie is in the other… just sayin

Come on… I really don’t like Chapek and I think he is destroying the product, however this has nothing to do with him (for once)!

If anyone is actually upset about this, they seriously need to get a life.

The Woody I bought my son had a blank boot so I wrote Trevin on it also with a backwards N I think blank boot with a marker is a great idea.

The woody I have doesn’t talk and is mostly felt. The only plastic is woody’s head and hat.

Disney:
Goes woke
Forces vaccination on employees
Rethemes splash mountain
Raises prices at parks
Genie+
Gets rid of Andy on Woody’s boot
How much more can Disney piss people off?
