It might help the rides to be fully operational during the 50th. Imagine a milestone event and the rides break down during that time. Also with Disney wanting people to pay for rides that would really suck if someone paid for a ride and that ride doesnt work. Disney just needs to close down a for a day and go over every ride for check ups.
Agreed! It seems like rides have been breaking down more often than usual lately. Hopefully they do some maintenance and fine tune-ups before Oct, otherwise people (including myself) will not be pleased when they come to celebrate the 50th.

In my opinion the pay to ride thing doesn’t make sense. Since Disney already gets money from their resorts, merch, passes, etc..
