Pandora — The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom has been a must-see for Disney World Guests ever since it first opened in 2017.
The immersive land is home to two Disney Parks attractions — Avatar Flight of Passage and Na’vi River Journey — as well as the Quick Service restaurant, Satu’li Canteen, and the snack stand, Pongu Pongu.
But did you know that one element of Pandora is actually just a massive illusion?

When walking into Pandora, Guests will instantly notice the mesmerizing floating mountains and hear the sounds of the waterfalls in the distance. Well, one of those waterfalls actually isn’t real! In fact, Imagineers used a method that creates an illusion to make them look real without having to use water.
In one TikTok video, you can see that after zooming in on one of the waterfalls in the back of the land, that it is actually just a large wheel painted with a texture to make it look like it is real water falling! Take a look at the TikTok below or by clicking here:
