I’ve never been a pass holder and I’m not seeing the information I’m looking for. Are those pass holder prices per person? Do you have to purchase anything else or is that pass holder price for the whole year and you don’t pay for tickets? I’ve been to WDW 3 times so I’m curious if this would save my family money.

We’ve been long time Florida Resident Pass holders and only canceled because of Covid 19 and we knew we would not be using the pass for a long time. We are definitely considering redoing the passes since it’s a great savings. Do the math to make youself feel better but normally when we buy the passes, after our 3rd trip it’s paid for itself with today’s high cost of daily tickets. Also free parking plus food and merchandise discounts.

Annual passes are just that: Annual! 12 months from the first day you enter a park – That is you could purchase an Annual Pass today, but not go for a month so that becomes the start fo your 12 months.
Passes are per person and cannot be transferred, used by another member of your family, etc.
The higher the pass and price the more perks it comes with and more days available (lower passes have blockout dates where you cannot go, usually during the busiest times, holidays, some weekend, etc.)

Then that is a change because we were annual passholders for many years and the pass started the date you bought it. If you did not get to Disneyworld for six months after you bought it you basically lost six months. We live in Georgia and it used to be worth it for us to have a pass and go once a year but the last price hike they did before the pandemic priced it out of being worth it.

I use to work at Disney and I have been going for decades. The annual passes always start the day you enter the park not the day you buy them. It has always been that way!

    3. Nick

Of course they’re per person. Having a pass that includes multiple people defeats Disney’s purposes which are to make money, control crowds & collect data.

    4. Dana Tartar

It is one pass per person. The pass is your ticket into the park whenever you can get reservations. For a family of four for the highest tier would be roughly $4800.00. You can go as many times as your pass is activated in one year. We usually just renew our passes every year. Hope that answers your questions.

Does anyone besides Disney and apparently Inside the Magic think these are “Good” and “Reasonable” prices? These prices are ridiculous.

They are awful. Read the fine print on the first one “weekdays” and the massive calendar blackout days for the first three. Oh and they took away the pictures (which cost them nothing so just another money grab). Let’s not forget the fact that there is no more free fast passes (didn’t see that mentioned, did you?) and the hotels now don’t give you free magic bands and charge for parking which is convenient since they dropped the free magic express. I’m done with Disney. They don’t care about their customers and are just looking for any way to offer less for more money. You can dress it up with fun names like pirate or pixie dust but that doesn’t change what it is…not Walt’s dream.

Not so different from the old system, just fewer options. The old Platinum Plus pass was $1200.

        1. Manny

That is the point of corporate America now. I will keep the same price and give you a smaller box. Platinum included water parks and ESPN with photo pass.

the top disney pass is almost 3x the price of my premier (top) pass at universal studios. i get all of what disney calls perks plus valet parking, a free night at HHN, and most importantly fast pass after 4 pm in the summer and 2 pm in the months where the park closes earlier. plus i get early admission and a passholders lounge. you should do an article comparing the top disney pass and the top universal pass. disney is not even close!!!

    1. Nick

More like double but not triple. Still, the Universal pass is, seemingly, a better value but you have to consider that Universal has two regular parks Vs. Disney’s four regular parks.
Universal’s upgraded parking, Express Pass and a free HHN ticket are pretty substantial perks.

Renewed our gold passes a few months ago. The gold pass of the past sounds like the DVC/Florida resident annual pass. Total cost for 2 renewals was $1300. Even with a renewal discount the cost would now be around $1800??? A $500 increase? What is going on with Disney and their greed the last several months? Need new leadership at the top asap before they totally destroy Disney.

    1. Pat

Very disappointing. Disney is going to price themselves OUT OF BUSINESS.

  5. Jackie Hinkel

I am from Pa and we( a family of 3 adults) love Disney. We where going every 2 yrs , then yearly and now 2x a yr . We wher looking to get an annual passes by now I dot know.

    1. Isn’t Disneyland in California going to have any annual passes available?

  6. Holly

Well I can say for certain we will NOT be renewing. Prices have skyrocketed as usual.. and the idea you can only make reservations for limited amounts of times, park hopping is limited not to mention the type of ticket wlll determine which days you can go? The rules are exhausting! I’ll go elsewhere with our family. Love the spin on how ‘affordable’ and the price point is better than expected? Give me a break!

I first went to Disney World in 1971. Now my yearly passes are to Universal and this is why. Too expensive and too many hoops to jump through. Universal actually appreciates their customers, something Disney seems to have forgotten in the last decade or so.

  8. Barbara Antonio

$1299 is not the problem. The problem is park reservation are very limited for AP and to pay $1299 and not have reservations for parks.

  9. ChadMC

Been a passholder for decades. Let it expire last year and will not renew while that ‘reservation’ system is in place. Without the ability to go anytime that is desired, it’s nearly pointless to have an ‘annual pass’ that does not afford anytime access. The main reason I always had an AP was for the ability to be sporadic and go whenever I wanted. Many trips were last minute. Without that ability to do that, there’s no reason to have an AP.

  10. Tamara

Still crazy with the reservation system. No assurances to get dates you want. Ride breakdowns. Rework closures in EPCOT. Too many rules. Not worth the money.

  11. Kurt

No mention of an annual water park pass? (Note: An annual pass for the water parks only…not as an add-on to another pass)

  12. Hey guys!!! Disney was closed for a really long time due to COVID-19 😊. I don’t run their business, however, they kept their heads above water while being closed with no money coming in!!!!!
They like everyone else in business need to turn a profit!!!! Upkeep for a year and believe me the place looks immaculate when I was there last week!!!! 😊. I am thrilled they are open and can’t wait to go back again!!!
Yes, I have a Gold annual Pass and will be getting the Top pass when renewal time comes 😊. Change happens!!!! It’s happened to all of us in one way or another over the last 18 months!!!!! I’m thrilled I have a place to visit with my family to make new memories just like the day they opened 50 years ago and I was in that long line of cars to just get to the gates of the Magic Kingdom on opening day!!!!

I have been anxiously awaiting these because we are planning a trip early November and I was hoping the tiers would be similar to Disneyland and DCA’s new Magic Keys. I was going to buy a lower tier for myself and my family, but now find out that ONLY ONE OPTION is available if you’re not a Florida resident? Come on Disney!! That’s seems so elitist. I caught the Disney bug in June when we visited California (where I grew up) and immediately planned the November trip when we got home. Living in Texas puts us in the middle, which is wonderful. But $1299 for outsiders? That’s how you’ve made us feel by only allowing non Florida residents to feel. I don’t usually express negativity but can not help this one. 😪😪😪😩😩

  14. Terry

You clearly think no one but Disney went through COVID or experienced financial hardships. Clearly everyone but Disney made out like bandits. We should all be so grateful that Disney raised their prices and took perks away and added up charges while bob paycheck racked in millions during COVID and laid off their cast members. Enjoy your 15 genie + per ticket and remember your gold pass doesn’t include fast pass anymore.
