Stuck on Small World? My adult children would have jumped in the water and helped the cast member (they don’t like that ride under normal circumstances). It doesn’t bother me in the least. It was a favorite of my late aunt Gail who had Downs Syndrome.
My daughter and I were on the Frozen ride in Epcot. November 2020. My first time after 3 visits that no one else with us wanted to ride it.
My daughter says, we get in line 30 minutes before Epcot closes. We are on the ride, go down the backward waterfall, get to the curve and spots. The lights come up. We hear a announcement to turn off the music. Watching the water rush by. I can see the walkway thru the attractions displays. Hear another announcement to stop the water. Then announcements that they will be coming to get us. After about 30 minutes, we were the last boat unloaded. Out the back, down some stairs and back into building. As they told us bye, I told them I had a scooter. A cast member, takes off going I’ve got it. We went to Guest Relations and now have fast passes for next time I get there. I did tap a snowman on the head. At least it was the end of the day and didn’t miss any park time.
LOL. I’m part of a team that rode “it’s a small world” for 12 hours last Thursday from park open to park close to raise money for LLS. We raised just over $42,000… and WILLINGLY rode it 🙂
Bahahaha stuck on Small World for an hour? Amateurs. Last week our crew rode it 25 times in a day. It’s the best ride ever. Why would anyone want to ride any other ride at Disney? Small World all the way baby!
I always go to It’s a small world first, then Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean in that order. I haven’t been back to Disney since October 1984. I miss not being able to get in the car and go to the Happiest Place in the World
We were stuck on Pirates of the Caribbean for over an hour. The lights came in and we had to be escorted out. Luckily we were close to the end so we were one of the first boats evacuated and yes the cast members were in the water!
It also broke down on July 24, 2021 and we were on it for more than an hour before the evacuation team helped us exit.
We had to be evacuated from Guardians of the Galaxy last October. My husband has mobility issues so they had to bring around a wheelchair to escort us out. The good part of the whole ordeal was that we got to ride 1 1/2 times that day.
Years ago, same thing! That song haunts me, I haven’t been on that ride again, over an hour is too much for any one. I look and laugh, thinking about the conversations while sitting in the boat. Everyone had a wish that it had broke down somewhere else, like the can can girls etc.
Many years ago a bunch of us were on IASW in Aneheim and the boat got stuck. Some of the members of the group got off the boat in the Canada section. We figure there are pictures out there from tourists of our group standing in Canada and waving to them. 🙂
That’s too funny! I would have done the same thing
Recently went to Disney world and tried riding Mickey and minnies runaway train, first time we got in line it broke. We got fast passes to come back, so 4hrs later we come back and use our fast passes and get on the ride and it breaks done again, but this time we had to get escorted off the ride and mind you we were 80 percent in the ride, so we had to stop at every car on the way back to get every single person off. We were offered fast passes again ad we finally got to ride later that night and as soon as we got off, it broke again. Kinda kills the magic when rides keep breaking all the time.
We got stuck on Space Mountain at Disneyland a few years ago. Certainly takes the fun out of the dark, fast, exciting ride through ‘space’ when you stop, the lights come on, and you see what things actually look like! We were unloaded and walked out but were given passes to come back later and get on right away. Just part of the adventure!
While at Disney World, a little girl was singing It’s a Small World in the restroom. When I got on the ride, I had a very short amount of time after getting off the ride to get to my shuttle back to the hotel to leave. The song didn’t get to take hold because I was trying futilely to hurry the ride along by mocking the song and singing it faster. It didn’t work. I’m sure there now is a circle in Hades that traps people in the ride.
I was part of an evacuation a long, long time ago on Ellen’s Universe of Energy. It wasn’t a ride malfunction, but a pregnant lady going into labor. Then, a few years ago we were on the PeopleMover when it broke down. We were in a tunnel with nothing to look at. After about 15 minutes we were escorted off and over to a stairwell and out a side door. We got a free FastPass for the inconvenience.
We went to Disneyland August 21st and got stuck on It’s A Small World for about 45 minutes! We were told on the speaker cast members would be evacuating us. That never happened because eventually they got the ride moving, although still extremely slow. They kept the ride open as if nothing ever happened.
Last Monday August 23rd my daughter and I were stuck on the people mover ! We had to walk along the railing from Space Mountain to past Buzz Lightyear! It was dark and scary as it was 8:50 in evening
