“Actor’s” (possessive singular noun) and not “Actors”(plural). This is a very important distinction.

You are supposed to be a professional writer. Be better at it.

People need to be responsible for their actions. He was a ball player and chose to be an extra. By this time, we all knew about the risks of playing ball. And he chose to do it anyway.

He knew the risks being taken. Even in 2006 they were starting to talk about head injuries among football players, this is nothing new and with any sport and with life in general there is always risk!! I just don’t see how you can hold anyone responsible, HE LOVED THE GAME!!

Yes he loved the game but he also loved life and would not have left his 3 kids fatherless

Sorry no this was before they knew. His brain was the last one studied before it became public. He died not knowing

He knew every risk as soon as he put on that helmet. Sorry but Disney is not at fault. Why didn’t they sue the Arena league also. He played foe them for 15 years so pretty sure they have a part in this. He signed up for it so he knew the risks. As did the family.

Are they going to sue the college that I’m assuming he played football at too? How about his highschool and coaches? He was a minor then so are they going to sue themselves (parents) for letting him play? How about let’s sue the descendants of the person that invented football. Look, he played football and he wanted to do it. Even though things like cte weren’t common knowledge at that point, it is a serious game of collisions that already had well known physical risks to your body. Stunt work also has known physical risks which I think this also falls under. I feel for the family, but at some point, unless someone held a gun to his head, it’s all on him.

It is important to note that Mr. Hammond was still actively playing football professionally when he worked on these movies (around 2005). I believe Disney therefore had a good faith defense to this lawsuit. The cost of continuing to defend such a lawsuit, however, is so high it is usually worth it to settle, which Disney has done without admitting liability. While it seems unfair, it is often the best decision.

if its better to settle then Chapek should have already admitted his wrong doing and quietly settled with Scarlett J.

It’s a little different. In ScarJo’s case, the Mouse is sending a message to her and all the other talent about who is really in charge.
In the CTE case, the Mouse is paying for bad publicity to go away.

This is insane. He knew the risks going into this game and so did his friends and family. He loved the game which is why he continued to play. It is also important to note that it is also on the responsibility of the player to say when they are hurt. Head injuries are not a new thing. I am shocked that Disney actually offered to pay the family. This is a dumb lawsuit.
