Kelly, Under the ‘more on Splash Mountain section’ you mention the petition that got the ride to be changed to Princess and the Frog but there is nothing even mentioned about the petition, from the same petition website, that has over 90,000 signatures of fans of the original to keep it as it (which is over 60,000 more signatures that the initial petition got). The lack of news of this petition on every Disney website like this one is disheartening – fans of the ride and the historic importance of the Uncle Remus stories are just being pushed aside for people accusing the ride to be ‘racist’ when it’s depicting stories from the Deep South, in the dialect they were originally told in. They’re pushing aside African American history – folktales that have a strong connection to the roots of the south that if not for Joel Chandler Harris would have been lost to time.
Don’t change the ride to Princess and the Frog!!! That movie is terrible and all this “wokeness” being injected into the parks isn’t a good look for Disney. Walt is rolling in his grave. So sad for our beloved Disneyland.
