It’s a sad, nostalgic moment, since it reminds us of how good an ending Toy Story 3 had, before the new studio head let Toy Story 4 ruin it by trying to make Bo Peep the new Independent Empowered Heroine of the series, and kicking Woody to the side… 🙁
Everyone knows that ericj hates anything that features a female character and threatens his fragile masculinity. I’m pretty sure that Woody was the main star of toy story 4 and is a partner with bo peep, so how is he pushed to the side?
I think I’m in the minority here but I love both of them very much! I think it’s because parents still have little ones when they see it so they haven’t gone through that stage of life yet. For me, Toy Story 3 came out and made my kid going away for college made me cry. But when Toy Story 4 came out my kid is now a teenager and it made me realize that my relationship with them is changing and they don’t need me like before so I had to step back and let them make their own decisions. It hit closer to home! Oh I was a mess!!
Because these days you have to side with one “party” or the other. There’s apparently no way we can all just get along and agree that in this case, both movies were beautifully done.
The aforementioned scene was very emotional for me too. It’s like when Pocahontas stands on the rock and waves in her Native language to John Smith as he is taken back to England. That is a tear jerker for me. Number 4 Toy Story was pretty good but my least favorite of the franchise. There were new characters introduced which made for an interesting story.

There is a typo in this article. Says in the “official description” that Buzz was played Woody Allen, when it was in fact Tim Allen. Just a note. 🙂
