Even though the Jurassic World coaster has undergone a soft opening for the past few weeks, many more Guests flocked towards the attraction on opening day, causing the wait time to skyrocket. At the moment, according to Reporter Alicia Stella, at around 10 a.m., the wait time for VelociCoaster was at 240 minutes, which is much longer than Guests who would have waited during the soft opening to ride the attraction.

Maybe the longest line we’ll see all day?

I personally waited at most 45 minutes each time I have ridden the coaster, so to see the wait time hit four hours is truly incredible and is a testament to how popular of an attraction VelociCoaster is!

At just before 11 a.m., the wait time on the Universal Orlando app was posted at 160 minutes, and it has continued to fluctuate around the three-hour mark, according to the app.

The lines for VelociCoaster began forming as early as this morning, before Park opening. Orlando Informer (@OrlandoInformer) shared a Tweet with photos of the line to get into Islands of Adventure. It seems that it extended deep into CityWalk, and then once in the theme park, the VelociCoaster line also did the same.

Good morning from@UniversalORL! It looks like we’re not the only ones here for the opening of Jurassic World #VelociCoaster.

However, one good thing that will come out of the four-hour wait is that Guests will not only have the memory of riding the spectacular and thrilling coaster on opening day, but they will also receive a free churro! As we reported, Universal is giving out free churros to celebrate the attraction opening. If you want to learn more about the offering, click here.
