Just retcon the terrible Sequels. Have Luke retrieve the Saber and give it to Mara Jade as he did in the Thrawn trilogy. Ten given us 5 or 6 decades of them having journeys together using it. Problem solved.
That would be something I’d watch! I’m really hoping Mara Jade can help patch this issue.
