We know EXACTLY why Chewbacca didn’t get a medal; it’s because Peter Mayhew was so much taller than Carrie Fisher that he would’ve had to kneel down for her to put the medal around his neck, which looked weird during rehearsals.
Another as likely possibility is that since spray paint is apart of the SW Canon thanks to a certain very colorful Mandalorian then the same droid could sport a new color scheme quite easily.
So we have a galaxy where tens of thousands of troopers can look exactly the same in every detail due to cloning, but can not have manufactured droids that look like each other?
Its a 7th generation Astromech droid. With them being so popular and common (in universe), I would hardly call this cause for “major implications.” What possible implications could there be? If it is Ahsoka’s assigned Astromech it will be written off as creative license; noone from Lucasfilm will care. If it is not, which I believe to be the more likely outcome seeing as Astromechs are popular and common in universe, then we have yet another canon Astromech for Hasbro to make a toy of and Astromech Builders group to make real for conventions.
This just is not a a big deal. The only big-deal Astromechs R2-D2 and R2-KT… and maybe C1-10P. If you don’t know about R2-KT you should probably look it up if you’re a Star Wars fan. “She” was at the end of The Force Awakens, but has existed, non-canonically, for years and the story is both heart-breaking and invigorating.
May the Force Be With You.
